Very great video! Loved the Freeze status for ages now, despite the low damage it does by itself; but on something like Homerun, you dont really need a fling mod and therefore can stack Bleed/Toxic & Frost together. But in a vast majority of other weapons I have been using flings, the gravity damage is just so massive on the blast status and the repeated stagger to Demolishers and the likes is mental :D
Ya the homerun is insane. I put 2 fling mods on my for a video just to do it and now I either need to get it dropped from someone or replay the dlc to get it again. Putting fling on it will do some initial damage and then having slit or venom on it can help while they are walking a mile back to you.
I like to combine the crit and blast mods myself after I found out that when a crit mod activates it also triggers the elemental effect of the blast mod. Then you get that bonus attack when its charged up as well
Just getting back into vidjya games after over a decade hiatus. You really helped me get over the zombie anxiety i experienced when i started playing this game a few weeks ago. I think once i did some trophy farming. Crazy how pixels and audio can be so intimidating.
Thank you for all the information you're giving I'm 65 and I love this game keep it up I just ran across you and I'll subscribe to help you out thank you.

I actually came to the same conclusion about the best mod combo. Normally I used to run with fling + shock but shock kept detonating hazmat zombies and killing me, which won't be the case with frost, the volatile stagger is a bonus I didn't know about though, so thanks for testing it out! [edit]: lightning -> shock
Aaaah is that what keeps killing me? It's been happening for a long time now, I've noticed that when I'm near a hazmat zombie that I quite often instantly die - and I'm always using the Shock mod. Makes sense 👌🏻👍🏻
Another thing I found really helpful was having some kind crit based shock mod. It is insane for crowd control. Specially if your weapon has something like "x% stamina on heavy attack". One of my most broken weapons is just a single handed axe. It stuns every zombie in a reasonable radius every 2 or 3 hits (being a single handed axe means quick hits in succession) which gives me a chance to do a heavy attack on several zombies in close proximity (which pretty much completely fills up all my stamina). I might try to use fling with it next
This man should have more subscribers than he already has, this guy had just has put his heart and soul into this one video. Good on you, even I wouldn't be able to test things like this in Dying Light 2!
Huh. I honestly didn't expect Fling to do anything towards the bigger enemies, but that's quite neat! I did discover the Volatile + Frost 'status' myself sometime during October though, and yes, it makes it much easier to fight them. However, my personal favorite combo so far has been Frost + Venom, I'm often focusing on Parkour attacks and being able to just constantly Vault Kick enemies after hitting a single Goon or Demo is very helpful. Not to mention it gives you an option to avoid attacks by doing the vaults and either Far Jump or Double Jump, setting up for some Air Kicks. It definitely does not wreck volatiles like you just were though, but it was a fun combo to use ^^ Thanks for the extensive amount of testing mate~
It's like Dying Light 1, they first make it so it's challenging to fight against Volatiles when you first start out and then you find a way when you level up higher for it to become easy enough to where they like fighting regular infected
I've exclusively been using fling and frost since launch, as I'm hoping to start my own space colony of zombies. The frost is just there to acclimatise them on their journey. Whenever a hoard is approaching me, I look at the edge of the group and activate the frost blast, and quickly look to the other end of the crowd and watch as everything becomes still
@TheLateral18 the blast mods work by charging with kills and when it is ready, you hold the attack button and push A or X if you are Playstation. Those may not be the right buttons but I think so. For power mods those also charge through kills and only activate on a power attack. I do t use anything bit critical mods as those will activate far more frequently than the other 2.
Your so right. I accidentally put Fling and Frost on my military machete. It is over a hundred less damage than my Spark and Flame paper cutter and still performs better!
Dang my fav combo was spark and frost I never used fling but I've seen others use it. I wish I could take off mods on weps like the manica shield thing. I will have fling with spark for CC and fling with frost for bosses like volatiles and demolishers/goons. Basically fling for volatiles is like having a uv light on them since they are literally afraid of you xD!
Hey man love your video's and I really appreciate all the testing you did. It save people a ton of time. Can't wait for the next one. Your without a doubt the best person for dying light video's and much appreciated.
I personally like Spark + Venom the most, but I mostly mix up my Mods so I use different stuff a lot. Spark is insane for crowd control and Venom is just broken against human enemies/virals and super fun against Volatiles since you can vault I also have an Axe with Spark/Frost which is great as an Allrounder Fling I personally only use on Blunt weapons because in my head the Stancemeter Damage of blunt weapons pairs up great with Fling
Wow this was a very interesting high depth video. Thank you I can only imagine how long this took to find the best for the community. Thanks alot for this. keeps these up!
Appreciate the research you put into this. I don't know why they strictly put katanas in the 2 handed category but I feel better knowing it's just as good
The first thing I maxed was shock and fling, I just can’t get over the effectiveness shock has with crowd control, a whole horde will get zapped and left to a 1 hit
I use frost & fling with blunt weapons 1H and 2H. Flame and Shock at night 1H. Bleed and poison 1H for humans. So far the best variation for me plus the ranged for witches and stuff like that
incredible commitment, thank you so much for sharing. maxing everything out is the most rewarding and fun thing for me. I always follow your advice, it's the best out there!! thanks again.
It seems to me that Venom is the best against humans. They won't stop vomiting even if you hit them, also the effect is ridiculously long. Lightning on the other hand stuns humans until you hit them and the effect is ridiculously short.
I just wish there was an auto loot skill or option you could get for melee killing enemies. I love mowing down a horde of volatiles and virals but trying to track down and make sure I loot every single body so I don't miss trophies is just a pain
The Puff mod still hits on crits like fling but I compared the 2 and fling activates more often. I like Puff for going into forsaken stores with stam regen on heavy attack and just doing the spin move over and over
i feel like electricity is the best combination, this is my personal opinion, i find it extremely powerful when it does the effect and its like hitting multiple enemy's at once, where the electricity goes from enemy to enemy it really does buy you time as whilst it electricutes the enemy they are also stunned for the time that the effect is taking place,
I want to try your combos out! Not knowing any better I maxed out the UV Flashlight: I eat volatiles and virals for breakfast, esp. with a Nighttime weapon. It’s almost like trophy farming.
