- Bathed by the Indian Ocean to the west, the Pacific to the east, and extending on either side of the equator in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is, with its approximately 14,000 islands , the largest archipelago in the world. Located at the convergence of the Pacific, Eurasian and Australian plates, this country of 257 million inhabitants regularly has to deal with extreme natural phenomena. In 2004, the tsunami which devastated the region did not spare the province of Aceh, in the north of the island of Sumatra, and caused nearly 170,000 deaths. A tragedy still very present in the memory of the population, who fear the occurrence of other natural disasters.

But Indonesia is also hit hard by the consequences of global warming. Every year, heavy rains cause flooding in the capital, Jakarta, crossed by no less than thirteen rivers. To save the city, which is sinking by 5 to 20 centimeters every year and 40% of its surface area is below sea level, the government has launched a colossal project: the construction of a giant seafront dike. sea and seventeen artificial islands. Led by the Minister of the Environment, this program nevertheless worries some fishermen, who fear being forcibly moved far from their place of work. In addition, these artificial islands risk degrading the environment and the coastal ecosystem. Government, NGOs, civil society, scientists, all are trying to adapt the country to the challenge of climate change. But at what cost ?

Très belle information que j'aime ! Mercie beaucoup de la nous partager avec plaisir . On ne peut pas imaginer l'avenir de notre planète , car elle change toujours avec sa trajectoire .
Je ne comprends pas. Le responsable de la sécurité inondations parle de la digue de plusieurs kms "en 2018 cette digue fera... ". Ce qui veut donc dire que ce reportage est antérieur à 2018. Pourriez vous nous donner la date exacte de réalisation de ce reportage svp ? Car là, c'est il a 5 ans. Ca serait intéressant de voir comment tout ça a évolué. Merci
je vis labas vers lombok, et un des problème c'est que les indos getent tous leurs déchets par terre tous le temps.Je suis en train de monter une asso ou le but serai d apprendre aux nouvelles generations à être plus responsable sur les déchets et en 30 on pourrai voire une différence.

Dans un proche avenir..le paradis sera rétabli sur la terre 🌎. ! Oui effectivement cela sera désormais possible..avec une nouvelle société qui aura la connaissance voulue pour la rétablir. !! Mais par rapport à une connaissance uniquement basée sur l'environnement et à la transformation de la terre 🌎..et aussi par respect des écosystème et des nombreux espèces de vies sur terre. !!
Cela sera possible à partir du moment où je l'homme sera entièrement enseigner de la bonne façon.
