This song has been stuck in my head. Must have played it 10 times at least already and it just gets better and better with each listen, somehow. Definitely got some Rush influence and City of Evil era mixed with The Stage imo.

Masterpiece of progressive metal. The dark feeling, intruments, vocal, textures and layers, love it all. Feels like a journey and togheter with the video gave me so many thoughts and vibes. Also for some reason got feeling of the terminator in the beginning, can't place why.
Glad some people understand. Seen so many just calling it trash and garbage because they lack all understanding.
Maybe if they started the scene with some skulls getting crushed?

The first time I've heard this song , in the beginning I don't even know that this is good or bad I can't comprehend it but after listening to 10 to 13 times it grow on me and now I'm loving it

everything has changed in my life since the last a7x album... time flies...i hope this album is going to be a banger.
This song was so much like when they shock dropped the stage. First listen I was like “wtf was that?!” Then that album has literally grown on me so much that it is hands down my favorite Avenged album. This song is on that same trajectory! That chainsaw riff is so damn catchy without being contrived at all!
It really is amazing how they are able to push boundaries the way they do! Also love the way you called it a 'chainsaw riff'.. such a cool way of describing that sound :)
more i listen to it more i get addicted to it, but first time hearing it was so weird and mixed emotions that i instantly started listening to it on repeat. it has so many layers that it's imposiible to catch everything at once, every more listen reveals every little secret they put in this song. it's gonna be long three months before we get album (especially after teasing us with this "controversial" song) but god damn this song will get me throu that time quickly. i am greatful to be fan of a band that isn't scared of changes and doing "unpopular" stuff.

I got shocked with such complexity... I listened several times and still discovering... It is dense and chaotic song... It made me feel like it is a portrait of the times we live nowadays with war, consumerism, lack of sense in what we do and insecurity if we understand where we are going to... I saw that the song could be based on Albert Camus existentialist Philosophy... and I believe it is...
Still hard to believe that after 7 yrs we are finally getting new Avenged Sevenfold music. It took a couple of listens but I love this song and can't wait til June 2nd for the full album. Still hoping u will react to other songs like Bat Country, Shepard of Fire, and Welcome to the Family. Nice reaction Biss!!!

They have evolved❤️ Looking forward to the album. Another reactor said M. Shadows had another surgery 4 years ago but I'm not sure of that. Check out the 2016 The Stage it showed where they were headed. I believe Ax7 is going The Wall with this album.

I love the guitar solo on this one😻
I was kind of taken aback a bit when i first heard it. Possibly didnt like it on first listen, (but most songs that i love now i didnt like upon first hearing. I listened to it this morning with better headphones and it really is like a symphony. Very hard to put my finger on it, bit for sure is more like the Stage album, even the iconography used in the video is very similar themes to The Stage. M Shadows voice seems so different in this song compared to how we are used to. I love how they are so progressive with their music, especially the last 2 albums have been super different from say Nightmare or Hail to the king. If you havent known, they have a podcast on spotify going through their entire back catalog. Very interesting to listen to
To me, the interpretation of the music video is this:
A man is depressed in the world and body he lives in. So his soul travels around the earth and through history to find peace and joy. He realizes that the world is full of death and destruction and so meets the devil who then tells him he will take the man's soul to a eutopic paradise. The man agrees and lets the devil take him to this eutopic paradise in a different world. When the man arrives he realizes that this "perfect place" is actually an artificially created hell where no one else exists and everything is fake (because a perfect artificial eutopic world does not actually exists). And so the mans soul runs to the edge of this hell and jumps off into the space time continuum to then rejoin his body. The moral of the story is to be careful what you ask for because you just might get it. Be careful searching for paradise because what you think is paradise might actually be hell in the end.
Interesting interpretation.
Mine is a little bit lighter, for me lyrics declare that we are God of our realities, our sun, our center. We are anyone and nobody at the same time, because everything is in fact our hallucination

I dont think his voice changed as much as this single shows. This is a very odd timed delivery of vocals and Matt adjusted to that. He still has absolute pipes trust me lol.

Honestly didn´t like it that much when i first listened to it cause it´s so different from their style and Matt´s voice changed but it´s been growing in me since then. Like "The Stage" this will be a very conceptual album for sure. Each song will be a trip that we might have to get in a few times to get it right. Congrats for another great reaction ;D

I'm not sure how I feel about the song yet but the solo is incredible coming from a guitarist's point of view. It starts in a neo classical sounding style which is not usual for Gates, but transitions into his usual jazz style. Lyrically I'm not sure but seems like it may be a WW3 type of theme but I could be completely wrong

I absolutely love this song, progressive metal has become my favorite genre since their last album that came out. I highly recommend you check it out and maybe also check out a band called Haken, they just dropped a masterpiece of an album this month. I recommend Sempiternal Beings and Nightingale before diving deeper into that band as they may be too “quirky” for you. Haken’s music has a ton of variety just in a single song just like this track, although most of their best songs are over 10 minutes long with some reaching almost 20 minutes.
