Their way of cutting back on bootleggers filming new features. That's why I wait at least a month after a new movie comes out before I go see it. Makes no sense to me to pay $6 for the same box of candy I can get from the dollar store😕I wait til enough weeks have pasted by and I know they won't search bags. We buy the food and drinks at the theater but I be damned if I'm paying for their candy.
Capitalism is very serious in America. They don't want you bringing in outside food and want you to buy THEIR food. Not everywhere searches tho cause I never got caught lmao

On god I've never been searched but I live in New York so maybe big city theaters were more relaxed than other American theaters.
I live in Texas & some movie theaters don't allow backpacks or big purses. If you do bring that they'll do a bag search.
