    Embarking on a 10-day Vipassana retreat, an immersive journey into silence and self-discovery, has yielded profound insights worth sharing.
    Consider the tale of three blind men encountering an elephant for the first time. One, grasping the tail, likens it to a paintbrush. Another, touching the leg, insists it resembles a sturdy tree. The third, holding the trunk, confidently claims it's akin to an anaconda snake. This ancient parable encapsulates a universal truth-we often apprehend only a fraction of reality until we broaden our perspective.
    Vipassana, a meditation technique with roots tracing back to Buddha, presented a transformative tool. It facilitated the observation of my inner world objectively, scientifically, free from immediate reactions. It became a guide to the art of feeling, breaking the cycle of disconnection prevalent in my life.
    Eight hours daily, eyes closed, feeling sensations-the crux of Vipassana. By recognizing that emotions manifest physically as sensations, the practice emerged as a guiding light for breaking free from negative cycles. Now, I process everything deeply in a dedicated hour, rather than scattered throughout the day.
    Vipassana is pragmatic, scientific, and elegantly simple-it's about embracing sensations, not evading them. This practice has empowered me to conserve energy effectively. My mind, once a constant fizz of reactions, now allows me to choose when to respond, providing a sense of control and minimizing unnecessary suffering.
    At its core, Vipassana instills Equanimity-a stable mental and emotional state amid life's challenges. Navigating through life without unnecessary reactions becomes a transformative journey, saving oneself from unwarranted suffering. My Vipassana experience unfolds as an immersion into truth, a silent enlightenment transcending words, akin to the blind men discovering the entirety of the elephant.

    I love the straightforward description ANoah. This video inspires me, & is a great service. Thank you for all you've said here.
    It may have been helpful for you to mention, (which I say as I didn't benefit from this in my own experience,) that only 6 of those 8 hours are required. The first two, i.e., the daily pre-dawn session (of 2 hours,) is optional. I didn't realize the value of it until the 6th day, (when your dad wrote it out and handed a note to me,) and only built up the courage & preparedness to attend on the 8th day. I wish I had known of the value of that 2-hour session earlier in my sit. I didn't experience my first sit fully, because of the issues I've mentioned to you. I still need to go for my first _honest_ 10-day sit. As I said my love, this description of yours inspires me. I love you. Thank you, and bless you always. -AZ
