Paramount produces the Mbombe 6 ICV for Latin America and SADEC

  • Paramount announced it is increasing production of its 6X6 Infantry Fighting Vehicle (ICV), the Mbombe 6 , to fulfill orders from Latin American countries and the Southern African Development Community (SADEC).
    This was announced by Paramount at the DSEI 2023 defense exhibition in London. More than 20 Mbombe 6s were built and deliveries are already underway, but the destination country is not stated.
    The vehicle has monocoque hull construction, providing durability and a stable platform for its specifications.
    The Mbombe 6 is available in a personnel carrier (APC) version and an armed fighting vehicle (ICV) version.
    The vehicle is manned by three crew, namely the driver, commander and gunner. In the rear cabin it can carry eight infantry troops.
    Dimensions include a length of 7.7 m, a height of 2.5 and a width of 3.1 m, as well as a ground clearance of more than 43 cm.
    Equipped with a 6X6 configuration, this vehicle shows good mobility on all terrain surfaces.
    The Mbombe 6 is powered by a turbo diesel engine producing 336 kW (450 HP). Its maximum speed is up to 110 km/h and offers an operating range of up to 1,000 km.
    In terms of ballistic protection, the vehicle is at STANAG Level 3 in the crew compartment. Also offers protection against mine or improvised explosive device (IED) explosions.
