It's not great. I don't find it dreadful but you might have higher standards in music than I. They sound like a slightly above average high school band to me and that's not a compliment. Love and Johnston are actually the weakest links here. It would likely sound better with singers from a good Beach Boys cover band or the guys from The Wondermints.

They have been my favourite band since the sixties - so lovely to see. The last time I saw them live was nearly ten years ago at the Albert Hall but the tickets are so expensive now.
I Still think Mike sounds great on everything BUT it saddens me to see that he's struggling with 'Don't Back Down'. Thats one of my favorite songs was out of the set list for so long! I hope he can strengthen his voice on that one so that it's not removed forever.

I am glad we can watch these videos before buying concert tickets to these bands. While I admire the fact they are still touring, this is hard on the ears. Kinda of feels like amateur karaoke night at the old folks home. That coked up drummer is playing so loud it's hard to hear the other instruments.
Thanks for posting. I attended my first BB’s concert in 1975 and have seen Brian Wilson and his awesome band, and every version of The Beach Boys through 2021. I just can’t do it any more. I love The Beach Boys and their music, but it makes me sad to see them now. With Scott Totten and John Cowsill gone and of course with the illness and death of Jeffrey Foskett and his amazing voice earlier, the magic is gone. I like Mike.. have talked to him many times, and to the contrary of others, I found him to be a really good guy. He tries but the strain is noticeable. Al Jardine’s band and voice is the last one standing.

I think this sounds pretty bad, shallow if you will. I was never a fan of Christian Love's voice, he sounds like he's half asleep. Does no justice to Rhonda. And turn the drums down, they're way too loud. Sa to see and hear Bruce try to sing on Cal Girls and Surfer Girls. He's really just there for the sake of trying to be authentic. Just a sad state of a once great band.
There are three categories that (IMO) bands fall into: 1 in their prime and kicking butt, 2, past their prime and need to hang it up, or 3, never were worth it and should have hung it up before they even started. This version of the Boys killed it on their prime, but now need to just hang it up. It’s a bad show when you have distractions with the video screen, lighting, (in this case) the drummer. DONT GET ME WRONG…he is very good. He can hold that groove down. His stage antics are just distracting. That’s all. Now, there seems to be an element of ego here. I believe Mike is just constantly adding new band members just to keep the Meal Ticket Boys (as he probably sees them) going. During the Boys’ early years, they supported animal rights. After Mike got the legal go-ahead to tour under The Beach Boys name, he went against what they were for, and performed at a Safari Club International convention. Brian and Al encouraged a boycott of BBs music on grounds of Animal Rights. Mike tried to dodge all of that by claiming freedom of speech (he was trying f to be “diplomatic”). He went one further and headlined a Trump event (NOT STARTING A POLITICAL FIGHT SO KEEP YOUR COOL!) so Al and Brian cut all support and took no responsibility for what Love was doing.

John Cowsill is a hell of a lot better. John tried to mimic Hal Blaine’s great beats on the original recordings. This guy’s a two-bit showoff. (I’ve played drums for nearly 60 years, so I have some idea of what’s good and what ain’t!)

So I think Mike and Bruce band deserves to be considered The Beach Boys. This show was a great one. I can't understand the critics of people in these comments but we all know there are a lot of casual fans that don't like The Beach Boys but Brian or 4-5 albums. Made the mistake and saw Chicago a few months ago. Two original horn players and Robert Lamm are all that’s left. He is almost 80. His voice is weak. It happens..Same problem here…

Tim is apparently using two Ultimate Support Apex stands next to each other. I've never seen a set up like that but it would definitely be more supportive, especially with those larger keyboards.

Besides that, Brian Wilson always used the Beach Boys as a repertory type group. He brought dozens and dozens of singers and players into the studio to make their recordings. The on-stage lineup has always been very fluid. The Beach Boys are a concept of Brian's mind -- an instrument to bring his songs to life the way he hears them in his head. It doesn't really matter who is on stage as long as the sound is what Brian was going for. That said, these guys sound terrible. Search for their 2013 reunion concerts to see how good they could still be as old men. Just not THIS old.
