- Moore Police Department is stepping up its use of force training using virtual reality with a VR training simulator developed by Apex Officer.
“With this new equipment, officers can now train or practice virtually any situation,” Moore police Lt. Kyle Hill said.
"Good decision-making and judgment have always been a crucial part as to what we do as police officers,” he said.
Officers can’t always prepare for or train for active-shooter situations, use of force incidents or mental health calls, for example, until they’ve worked them in the field. Virtual reality allows them to experience the calls safely.
