My test to see if you have a job or a master:
    1. Is your job your pathway to value / validation?
    2. What would I even doooo if you didn't work?
    3. Does your job reciprocate your loyalty?
    4. Does your job control your access to healthcare? And do you have to access that healthcare BECAUSE of the stress from your job?
    5. Does your job control other ways you make money?
    6. Is your job a means to an end or an end itself?

On the phone with someone RIGHT NOW who, at the age of 58, just learned that her company's ENTIRE U.S. division (standardized exam writers) is now required to either resign immediately with a generous severance package or stay on and risk being fired sans package. She initially panicked but then calmed down. She's going to take the package. NOTE: They've been given ONE WEEK to make a decision. All I could do was quote Stephanie Perry: "These jobs ain't loyal."

Hello Stephanie and friends from California 🖖 new subscriber. My daughter turned me on to your channel. You lady are pointing out the shackles on our mind big time 👏🏼 my family is from Little Rock Arkansas and they push education as bragging rights to get good jobs (just over broke) they don’t tell you about the stress, politics in the workplace, nepotism, etc.

After being a Science teacher, Dishwasher, Cashier, Technical Support Agent, Sales woman, Secretary, Certified NursingAssistant, Driver. I realized its our society that tries to ingrained this concept that a job can give you value. I never felt valued by my jobs because they always paid me barely enough. Exposed me to disease, death, and belittlement. All things I could have lived without before experiencing them. I went through the military, medical lab, nursing homes, education system and call centers. But I see how we attach our identites to titles/income. I felt like the person they used to compare themselves to. Thanks for this video, I have been there. As a Haitian woman my identity was found in being married/finding a man/job. But I am glad we are able to process through these mindsets.

I always make a joke (not a joke) that when I shower, I always do a body check to ensure I don't have a brand that says "Property of the State of Ohio!" It's not there yet...but I'm escaping before it comes to that.

Another thing: everything is getting more and more expensive. Housing, childcare, groceries, etc. Our leaders don’t invest in us at all, but they’ve got all the money in the world for nonstop wars. It’s pathetic. 😩

Great questions! One of the first thongs asked when getting to know someone is "what do you do?". And that question determines how people treat you. So yes, I've thought of it

Hola from Spain 🇪🇸 Out here on a 6 week scouting trip with family. I'm going back to work with the intention to stack up and pack up in 2 to 4 years. We can't let these jobs hold us hostage.

I started watching your program to free myself. I took a job for insurance, but stayed after I switched to Medicare. I could have retired, but stayed even though I was doing okay. I kept asking myself, what would I do. I finally realized I was using the job as a crutch. They wanted to keep me and treated me well, I figured. But just like the nice master, it’s all an illusion. There’s no such thing as a nice master. A nice master wouldn’t take away your freedom. So I looked at the calendar and thought of Juneteenth and the souls who continued to work after slavery ended. I watched a few of your videos, and then I retired later that day.

I was taught to get a good government job and collect retirement. I been at my employer for 17 years. The goal is to get the 20 them collect my retirement check then move away. I taught my son & niece the opposite because i have discovered over the years "these jobs are not loyal" like you said...

The theme I get from your video is that we have one life, and we have the right to enjoy it. You’re so right! Life in America really can be exhausting for most, if not all, of us, and we deserve better. Thank you.

You can get a TEFL certification on any online TEFL course. In order to start teaching online most companies want you to have at least 120hrs TEFL certification. Most courses give you 1 year to complete the course, so it's possible to work and study for your TEFL part-time.

I read this somewhere years ago and it’s something like this, work is something you do to keep busy between eating and going to the bathroom.

Hello- unfortunately, I couldn’t attend the live this morning, but I wanted you to know that I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR YEARS!!!! I know EXACTLY what you are talking about, Stephanie, which is why I started MY OWN company and work for MYSELF. I FLAT OUT told my last boss that I felt like I was being treated like a SLAVE. I felt that through and through at that job, and quit that same year. I started doing some independent contracting work, and now I am working through MY BUSINESS. Man, I wish I could have attend this morning! Sorry, I was traveling home from the mountains at the time of this live!
