Thank you TKGC for this spectacular Changing Guard in Buckingham Palace, windy day, with also my favorite Irish Guards and Band, and my favorite SDM Gareth Chambers☘️ Is it today's Changing? So Chambers is still the HHDivision's SDM, it seems. It would be so fine!!
@charlottecunningham2141 Hello Charlotte, that's a great news!!! I see you're well informed: have you any "little Birdies" around?🤭 Thank you, friend, for this fantastic news. Have a nice evening!
05:12 There are different traditions for pacing the minutes amongst the different regiments. Holding the sword by the ricasso is unique to the Irish Guards.
@@charlottecunningham2141During parades, officers hold their swords by the grip within the hilt. Only when pacing the minutes do the Irish Guards hold their sword above the hilt by the part of the blade known as the “ricasso.”
AT 6:08 AM I TRIPPING OR DID THEY START PLAYING THE MANDOLRAIN THEME? Also could you explain to an American why the Flag Bearers and Officers walked up to you all?
Thank you for filming and sharing, I would love to have been there to see in person . Maybe someday ❤❤❤❤

@AlbaAlba-fg2io Thank you for your kind words :) Yes, this was today’s Changing of the Guard 👏 Monday, 6th of January 🇬🇧💂
@@AlbaAlba-fg2iono😂you are more knowledgeable than me. I wish I had some intel or birdies around
That is the first time. I have been that thank you..from Australia..
Thank you for such an amazing view! I’d never seen this before! God bless you!
Precision and discipline is amazing very spectacular.
I’m new and I’m from Newfoundland Canada but I live in Alberta now
Well done, that’s fantastic. From Queensland Australia.
Unbelievable!! A perfect view. Thank you so much.
They look so beautify
It always fascinates me how they turn the corners and change direction. How do they learn that complicated manoeuvre.

Thanks for the info 👍 Great to know! :)
@wu_1116, is that only allowed during the pacing? I ask because I’ve seen several officers holding the sword by the handle while marching

@@wu_1116ok thanks
Poor drill in the guard on the right. I think that poor guardsmen will be do some refresh drill and learn to keep in step.
You did have a good spot. I enjoy seeing the march-offs close up especially the slow march
It was well worth the wait! Glad you enjoyed :)
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙌
You’re right! You were in an absolutely fantastic spot for catching all of the action. Was this today’s (Monday, 6th) Guard Change? 👍 💂
Indeed it was today’s Guard Change! 🇬🇧 Thank you for watching 👍
AT 6:08 AM I TRIPPING OR DID THEY START PLAYING THE MANDOLRAIN THEME? Also could you explain to an American why the Flag Bearers and Officers walked up to you all?
It's a practice known as Pacing the Minutes. Officers do it to show that they are of sound mind and body, and fit to lead.
@americantemplar1119, the guards bands play a variety of music while standing still
Good to see the officers demonstrating that they are not drunk on duty and able to walk in straight line…..😂😂😂
A shame the officers still have to have soldier servants. The inner city working class rank and file kept in their places…..
NOT ALL
@ Soldier servants still exist and are in use; even as an option. It’s wrong in the 21st century. Fact.
