Hello Good People. I Apologize for the Shaky camera. I am using a new camera Handle as to hold the camera better and Not Drop it. Im not used to it and im not sure I even like it Sooo again I Apologize. Thank you all for watching 👍😊
Back in 1997 I bought myself a brand new Harley Davidson XL 1200 Sportster. Candy Violet Pearl. I bought it in July '97 August I put my leg through a rotten 2X4 on a boat dock. Well the rest of that summer was shot for riding. Leg was every color you can imagine for about 6 months. But the next summer. When I would ride. Being a Sportster. I rode it like I stole it. In September i started hearing a rattle vibration at around 4000 - 4500 RPM's I thought it was the top end making noise. So the rest of the season I just rode it until it snowed. So the nest summer I still had that annoying rattle vibration somewhere in the top part of my bike. So one afternoon I was at the infamous Confusion Corner in Winnipeg going to visit my Mom. God Rest Her Soul. She left us May'23. But as I was leaving one of the stop lights. Of course hammering down on my Sporty. It started rattling. Well i looked down and the gas cap was rattling. And that's what was the making the top end noise I was hearing. Off to the Harley store I went. But noises and rattles can drive you nuts.haha..
Just loooved that story from '79 🔨 I moved to Fresno in April of that year ...but then came to my senses and packed my bags for Dana Point in '81 (。*‿*。) From over on the coast ~ Ride Forever! 🦅
I wasnt talking about a modern harley.I was talking about the exact same part that you got that I ordered from them.A piece of white plastic sleeve was shoved into the pivot hole. The OD and ID on it ensured a sloppy wobbly fit.I think you know about that company's reputation.
Keep getting up with all you do. Well produced video. We all have enjoyed the information stories. Thank You and Cameraman Mike. For I say being you. Cool
Mike .. How is the Flathead coming along. Tell Camera man Mike hey Wasn't that a mechanical locking nut? Too old to see that close but to me it looked like a mechanical nut
FYI. You have mentioned several times why you use the open end of a wrench because you believe that you stress the two corners less than if you stress 6 corners with the box end. Quality wrenches and sockets are relieved on the corners so they drive farther down the flat. Much like spline sockets they don't drive off of the tips they drive farther in to the center of the slot. Great video. Later Mike and Cameraman Mike.
Even Snap-Ons can chip the chrome on those corners. I just explain it so I don't have to defend myself every time I grab a nut with the open end of a wrench. Thanks.
I love riding my old bikes. That's what they're for. It took me this long to get to own and enjoy them. The Flathead has taken quite a while just to keep the build going. I'll get there.
Hey Mike Really enjoy your videos. Great Bike and I apologize if you have explained this already but how do you manage to have your saddlebag draped over your exhaust without issues? Thanks
Good video Mike always enjoy them. But can I ask you a question I have a 46 el with the same oil tank but my return line and vent line are switch around from the way you have yours did I hook them up backwards or dont it matter ? Thank you for any help
Hi Mike, thank you for your videos...Mike I have a 1979 FXS Lowrider HD .Can you demonstrate how to convert my bike from stock controls to forward controls along with maybe a recommendation of which after market controls good to get .? Thanks again Mike
Well, I don't have a bike in need of that operation at the moment. The forward control system I've used on my Shovelhead has been around forever. It is an all steel setup and is trhe lowest price. Certainly a bargain by my standards. It is the strongest and least excpensive and sold by every major Harley parts aftermarket company I can think of. Just take a look through the catalogs.

To tell the truth I didn't notice any shaky camera, keep doing what you do, it works!!! Thanks
Keep on Mike! It’s ok. I just thought the ride was rattling along with Mike!
Hey Mike got the Shakes, ? Time for another Coffee break 🎉.
A gimbal will help with the shakes.
All good mate..
you can use a mono pod.. it’s like a tripod just a stick.. you can change height.. or a gymbol.
awesome content..
Looking forward to the flathead build.
Me too.
🤞🙏🏻👍😊

Great video , love that bike . I"m waiting for the flat head . I a big fan of customs that are ride able like yours .

Hello, Mike, thank you for the great videos, sir!
Question - how’s the LC Panhead living? Has it been ridden my DTS Mike, or is it sits in the garage?
Not sure. When you pass something on, you have to let it go.
Man that's a clean bike great video thank you both 😁
Our pleasure!
👍😊
Great looking bike Mike, how come you don't have a rubber kit pedal 😎
Sometimes I do. Sometimes I don't.
I chased a rattle for a while, turned out to be a snap on my helmet.
Very interesting. But, that's using your head.
👍😊
Hi Mike. Sure would love to buy a couple Tshirts but you’ve been out of XL for awhile. I’ll keep on-a checkin’
Sorry 'bout that. I'll check on them. I don't know when the next run is.
👍👍
Thank You.

Hey Mike Really enjoy your videos. Great Bike and I apologize if you have explained this already but how do you manage to have your saddlebag draped over your exhaust without issues? Thanks
Heat shields I made which have air passing between them and the pipes.
I'll go rhythm
Thank You

If the level doesn't get too high, probably okay. But I've got mine right. It matters for the space left open in the top of the tank.
How Cold is it Mike ? Wehave warmed up to 6 degrees her in th e North West .
It's all relative.

Have a look in the V-Twin (Tedd Cycle) catalog.

0:02 - 'Serf'in USA'? Dressed for England there Mike, 'climate driven wardrobes' are among us! : )
These old bones get a little chilled. Stay warm, brother.
😊👍😊
hey man i got a pan head 55 model and when i go to kick it does not feel right
Kind of a vague symptom, don't you think? Maybe better get a Honda with an "electric foot."
It being a V-Twin part, did it come with a white plastic sleeve which is their idea of a bearing?Pure 100% Grade A crap
No. Modern Harleys come with plastic bushings in their controls. This is a beautiful and faithful reproduction of an original Harley 45 brake pedal.
I'm supervisor at machine shop
Very cool.
big flatty ?
First, there is "big groceries."
Blame the camera on calif earthquakes. Lol
It is a large camera. Anything's possible.
Hot chocolate is better
If you say so.
Cold beer, any time
Hey Mike from NorCal (Nevada City) ! Building my first bike @unlucky.harley
