I’m in esthetics school and I loveeee waxing... probably one of my favorite services to preform. I absolutely LOVE your videos!! All your little tips and tricks are so helpful! 💕
Ok so what I just figured out that isn’t specifically mentioned ( or I missed it) is that you can’t let your wax get too cold. I thought that if I’d let the wax get super hot and put it on my skin and then wait as long as possible it would get as much hair as possible but it gets much more hair if you rip it off immediately as it sets. Meaning if you’re able to pull it off because it has a form do it don’t waitttt!
Thank you so much, I am very pale and my skin is so thin and hair so thick, that the hair stays and skin goes right off with soft wax, ill switch to hard wax now.
Hey Kristen is there an easy way to know if your hair is the appropriate length for waxing? I have PCOS so I grow coarse annoying facial hair . I'm think about visiting you guys because you're close and I really love that you use hard wax. I'm never sure how to determine if the hair is long enough for waxing.
Aw thank you! I actually answer this question in my Q&A#4 video! If you're not a professional, I definitely recommend going to one! This area is so sensitive.... if not then hold the skin tight!
What were you saying you practiced on? Thanks for the video! I jumped ahead a quarter, and got delayed coming back to school, so I am playing a little catch up perhaps lol
What I'm confused about is which hard wax to use to remove coarse facial hair....cuz I've used various ones they either irritate my skin or don't even work it's like putting glue on your face so please tell me which wax I should get to remove my facial hairs!?
For those who are only doing self waxing at home and so only using the wax/heater every 4 weeks or so, should we be using a fresh pot of wax every time or is it ok to pack the pot away with the wax in it and then reheat the wax for future use? Just bought myself supplies of hard wax and heater etc as I’m housebound and can no longer get out to get my waxing done and shaving really irritates my skin so have found all your videos extremely helpful. X
Hi I know your post was like last year and I’m not a professional but I’ve been waxing since like I was in middle school and I’m 24 now I use the same pot but use a different spatula or wooden stick each time to keep it clean especially if you’re gonna wax someone else or waxing bikini and face using same pit
Ppl use soft wax on my brows all the time for yrs now I never had an issue. But I suppose I learn something new everyday lol. Thanks for making a video !
Software updates is great as well. It's been used for decades as long as you don't burn the skin. Of course there's nothing wrong with taking a little bit of dead skin with the hair. It actually helps with the ingrown's the reason. Why? Hard wax all of a sudden came out is because they tried to make it into something special in. Different when it hurts just as much LOL? They just charge more for it because they want you to believe it hurts less.
I live in Houston, Texas and it is HOT as literally hell here and humid as the Amazon... I have found it is very difficult to get the right consistency... Like me warmer I use by Bestidy (probably not good enough) says to keep your wax at 143-170 degrees F while using the wax... but the consistency of those that range of temp is way too runny for hard wax, it literally just drips like melted honey... so I have to turn mine below the recommended temperature to get that thick, molasses consistency and even then I find I have to dust a layer of baby powder on my skin right before each strip application just to soak up the ridiculous moisture because even in AC inside, it is so damn hot, you are like moist (ugh hate that word) but it's true. it's a total pain!!!! I love waxing though, I just started a couple of months ago because I am prone to ingrown hairs and bumps from shaving no matter how awesome my razor is so I started and it is a game changer!!! even when my hairs grow back (longer than wanted hahaha) my hair is soft and smooth and my legs always feel smooth now after years of having prickly cactus legs every other day after shaving!
Yes, so the first strip needs to be applied in the direction of the hair growth to get the bulk of the hair. After, clean up strips can be applied in the opposite direction to get the small amount of leftover hairs. They won't snap since there is such a small amount of hair for the clean up strips.
I would like to know what do you use to prep the skin and what do you use after the wax. I LOVE your videos and all the education I'm from California and I just breach out of EWC and I love the tips of the wax products but I would like to know what do you use to prep the skin and what do you use for post waxing..
Hey Gloria! Aw thank you so much! For cleansing, I use the Pre-Hon Pre-Epilation Cleanser by GiGi and Sunflower Oil from Hylunia. Post wax, I use the Post Wax Cooling Gel by GiGi. I recommend by clients use PFB Vanish for post waxing after care. Hope this helps!
Hey..thank you for sharing such an Wonderful Video. My question is, I jus started using hard wax at home, my wax came in Tin which was not possible to remove so I put the Wax tin in the warmer. It did work but took me 1.5 hour to melt the wax.. What should I do??
Hi. I understand very little English. I would like to be able to understand everything you explain. I am using a translator now. I bought the euroblonde wax from cirepil and the starpil hard wax. I'm going to try them, how do you recommend preparing the skin before applying it? I used the waxes with strips, but for face, armpits and bikini I want to change to more hard waxes.
Hello! Here is a video I made about applying hard wax ruclips.net/video/PeW6oLErGho/видео.html You'll want to cleanse the skin with a cleanser, possibly use a pre wax oil if they have dry skin as well!
What brand do you recommend for Brazilian waxing? I want to do this on my own at home and was wondering if you can give me some tips on what to purchase. I tried to do Brazilian with soft wax and oh boy...I didn't know about hard wax until your video.
Waxing Kit for Women, Regalico Wax Warmer with 4 Bags Painless Hard Wax Beans Hair Removal Kit (3.5oz/Bag) 20 Wax Applicator Sticks, At Home Waxing Kit for Eyebrow,Armpit, Bikini, Brazilian on Amazon
Wonderful, so you’d apply the wax to the table paper? I’ll have to try that. I’ve been using soft wax for a year, but have started to notice (as I have been practicing on myself to help with my client applications) that my skin is becoming a little too sensitive for soft wax. Will definitely try your “paper method” for practicing my hard wax techniques. Thanks for the video!
Can you explain why wax comes off in a gum like texture? This happens sometimes at home but it just happened at a European wax center. I was the first appointment and I think my theory is that the wax didn’t have time to melt thoroughly down. Yes it was liquid but is there a time period that it needs to fully melt? I notice when I leave my wax on for an hour then wax it works great but other times (when I’m rushing) and only let it melt down for 20-30 minutes it would do this gummy - not hardening issue. Help please.
Have you had success using the Starpil blue film wax on course hair? I tried it for my legs and it was a mess. It barely removed any hair. I'm Black, by the way.
ShenikaN yes I have! You just need to lay the wax strips a little thicker so it won't break. Pressure is also a big factor! Make sure you are pushing down hard enough when applying the wax strip.
I used a starpil wax but that was breaking when i was putting it off if i applied thin layer of that hard wax on my skin. 😢😭 kindly tell me why it happend...?? Your wax layer is so smoth and it can easily put off without breaking.
That could be because of multiple factors. For example: length of time you are leaving the strip on, how thick you are applying the wax, the temperature of the room, the humidity in the room, having clean lines when applying the wax... if you can give me a little more info we can figure out why it is breaking on you :)
I bought the prowax 100. But when I took it out is like emediatly to hard before aplying. What is my problem. It is hard wax that is comming with tha machine
LESLIE CALDERON yes, you want to make sure the wax has a honey or molasses consistency. If it's too runny then you'll get burned and if it's too thick then it won't adhere to the hair!
So I Wna wax for the first time on my face and idk if I should bc it might hurt but does anyone Wna give me advise plz I would rlly appreciate it I have threaded before and omg nev😊er again it js so painfull
Hi.. I am using Starpil blue film hard wax... and It seems that it’s breaking when I pull the strip...can you please tell me where is my problem? I was thinking it has something to do with temperature? Maybe I am not heating it enough or overheating?? Thank you so much. And have a good day!
I will let you know what I use while waxing myself at home: craft sticks from dollar tree, you can buy two different sizes and they work just as well as wax sticks from GiGi.
hi there!i recently started practicing for personal use only! I started doing my underarms with soft wax but after the first strip i saw a little blood so i stopped. I put on a special lotion and i feel ok but half of my hair is still there! When can i try once more?
Hi there.. I started to use the hard wax and i just put it in a wrong way.. And there is now small spots of blue wax every where on my skin😪 I don't know how to clean it now.. Should i use oil or how can i do it 😢
Currently I'm using Mermaid Wax. It will only be available in US. In the past I've used Berodin, Cirepil, Miss Cire, & Starpil. What country are you located in? I can try to give you a suggestion.
How warm should it be when applied to the skin? I waited until it wasn't runny and applied it terribly, it kinda made me nervous because I felt the heat of the wax so it made me hesitate.
@@hissnkittenwaxing I just did armpits and some of the bikini area (panty line)....it was soooooooo painful. I had to have my husband snatch it because I couldnt dare do it. The hair has white bulbs on the end and felt very course like straw!! I used Cirepil Blue in a Pro Wax 100 warmer.

About to start this month I hope I love it as much as you
Same with me! The tips & tricks aren’t something we really get told. Thank you so much for sharing 🩷💜✨
Starting male waxing locally. This video is amazing 🙏

Waxing is very underrated it actually keeps the hair from growing back as thick the hair grows back much thiner sometimes it doesn't grow back at all
I completely agree!
Thank you so much, I am very pale and my skin is so thin and hair so thick, that the hair stays and skin goes right off with soft wax, ill switch to hard wax now.
Your skin comes off?! Are you ok?! 😥

Aw thank you! I actually answer this question in my Q&A#4 video! If you're not a professional, I definitely recommend going to one! This area is so sensitive.... if not then hold the skin tight!

This is gonna be super helpful eventually !!
Happy to help!
For left over wax...how long does one have before they need to switch out
What's the best temp to put the hard wax on so that it's not to hot but not to cold? If your using the home kit
Most wax pots just use a number system (1-10) so I leave it right around 5 during the day!
@@hissnkittenwaxing what about hard wax ranging from 1-80...what's a good temperature to keep my wax pot on?
Thanks for the practice tip!

Direction of applying the wax(in or against the direction of hair growth) matters?
Yes absolutely! Otherwise the hair can snap and break instead of being pulled from the root.
but you applied it in both way..
Yes, so the first strip needs to be applied in the direction of the hair growth to get the bulk of the hair. After, clean up strips can be applied in the opposite direction to get the small amount of leftover hairs. They won't snap since there is such a small amount of hair for the clean up strips.

I purchased them on Amazon! They are listed as Medline MDS202045 Non-Sterile Tongue Depressor, X-Large (pack of 1000).
Hi! How do you achieve that consistency of wax, where its not cold and warm enough to spread easily?

Yes you do! My arm hair is growing down so I apply down first. Clean up strips are applied in the opposite direction.
