My original build was a 68, 100s and a 12mm, made around 800 and spun the main bearings, built the motor and everything else, added a s480, 150s, 2 12 mm pumps, billet everything in the trans, now im well over 1000hp. Cclb truck, 6 inch lift turned down to 4.5, 22x12.50 on 33 fury mt. Still rowdy as can be. Mine is an lly. Might put it all in a single cab if i find the right truck for the right price.

Sounds like a rowdy set up you had. When we get these small kinks figured out, It should be making around 750-780 MAX. Need to do some data logging and phone calling to the tuner and work out some small touches.
1000HP sounds wicked. One mans dream.

@FreedomDiesel been a little over 2 years in the making, never done of course. Its on my channel. I honestly should have put the whole build on there but time, and working in my driveway hindered me from being able to showcase it how i wanted to. But i can say i learned alot doing it and enjoyed it. I have some future plans and some more builds to do. Maybe ill get back on the youtube game. You might see me one day out that way. I try to make it to different events during the summer in other states.

Beautiful truck......I'm soooooo glad & thank God you didn't put black wheels on it!..... Black wheels only look good on school buses 😆

Heads don't lift nor do the bolts stretch on duramax s it's the gasket itself that fails. If you wanted to hold on to the bottom end as long as you could you should have went with a s300 or s400 for less cylinder pressure. Big vgt chargers only create lots of cylinder pressure along with compound s also.

100% agreed. Stock bottom end duramax, big single. Keep the power up top. 👍

Coming from a Performance shop/Engine builder, the Factory head bolts will lift & stretch under hard loads/acceleration resulting in the heads to lift ever so slightly but just enough for the combustion gases to blow out the factory head gaskets “ Easier to do 2006 and down “ and this then results in headgaskets failure & warped heads. 100% common problem. I have even seen ARP head studs snap.

@𝕽𝖊𝖆𝖕𝖊𝖗 𝕯𝖎𝖊𝖘𝖊𝖑 𝕻𝖊𝖗𝖋𝖔𝖗𝖒𝖆𝖓𝖈𝖊 know many and I mean many big hp very reputable duramaxs that have ran stock bolts on big hp trucks with 0 issues. All about drive/cylinder pressure. I know a thing or 3 about these trucks also considering I have a lly making close to 1400 on fuel only no nitrous. Not saying they can't lift heads but it's very unheard of. Headgasket issue s on these trucks 99% of the time is the gasket itself.

We have a 1,500WHP Triple turbo LML on fuel only no nitrous also. The factory head bolts are designed to even stretch when torqued down, this design has lead them stretching even more if the engine is producing enough drive pressure therefor lifting the cylinder heads blowing the head gaskets. Factory head bolts are like springs. They stretch and onces you remove them/take the load off them they go back to their original stat, if you haven’t stretch them past their load point. Many people running VGT-Compound-triples will have high drive pressure which will need ARP head studs to keep the head on the gaskets from lifting. But Yes if you have a set up that doesn’t have a lot of drive pressure/Cylinder pressure you do not have to worry about the bolts lifting as much. But many people prefer to have turbos/set ups that have high drive pressure/ cylinder pressure for better drivability on the street and need ARP head studs like this guy in the video. It’s all on how you build your truck whether you need certain parts or not. To some it’s just personal preference on some things.

@𝕽𝖊𝖆𝖕𝖊𝖗 𝕯𝖎𝖊𝖘𝖊𝖑 𝕻𝖊𝖗𝖋𝖔𝖗𝖒𝖆𝖓𝖈𝖊 if you read my comment you wouldn't have had to type any of that.... I stated that numerous times that it's all about cylinder/drive pressure and that's all vgt junk and compounds create is way too much of it. That being said idc if you have triple turbo s man no one runs that shit anymore way too much clutter and shit in the way when you can get the same with a good compound set up. All that extra weight and clutter and the mess of oil delivery for 3 turbos. I looked you up and didn't find much about you or see that you even knew any reputable big names out there. Factory head bolts will go a long ways and you won't change my opinion on that. Sorry not sorry. Stick to your heavy cluttered triple turbo set up. Let me guess you worked on this kids lbz ? If you knew so much about these trucks and cared about your customers concern about keeping the stock bottom end intact for as long as they could you'd tell them to ditch that vgt junk for one. But you also are running triples and prolly think you need triples to achieve the power your making when there's guys running big singles making close to what you are with way less shit in the way and shit to go wrong. Just my .02.

After this motor gives up the Ghost. A new set up is in mind. S400 is actually on the sheet as a idea. But until then, gonna take advantage of the stock bottom end for the time being.
