What? I could have sworn I watched this video before, but regardless, I'll drop my take here. Hbox played AWFUL this set. Dropped every single edgeguard and played hyper aggressive, landing on mac over and over and over, which is exactly what Peanut wants. It's more complicated than Mac ruling the ground and Puff ruling the air (which isn't really true for either character at all.) Jigglypuff's air mobility is great enough to where if mac is offstage WHATSOEVER, all you need is one reaction and he's dead. As an example, the down air recoveries Peanut loves so much can easily be intercepted by a nair catching him before or after the jump. The Up B is hard to challenge head on but it's very easy to hit it from the side. Hollow Bastion was also an awful counterpick. The singular platform in the middle of the stage poses no issue to mac, whereas battlefield or yoshi's triplats or town and city's side platforms give mac loads of trouble when it comes to being camped out, since realistically you can just shield whatever he does. Of course, there's always the issue of getting in, especially since a lot of little macs (peanut included) LOOOOVE mashing smash attacks, and in general mac's anti airs aren't half bad. However, they aren't perfect. Grab beats all of mac's super armor moves, and those who are familiar with Bassmage will know how powerful her forward throw can be, with it so easily forcing people offstage and making them burn an option, which is a death sentence for Little Mac. His up tilt is nothing spectacular, and his forward tilt is fast and strong but can easily be crouched or shielded. The only threat Little Mac has against shields is forward smash angled down, which is significantly threatening, especially since it's the most damaging angle, but it's knockback is non-existent and it's still a laggy smash attack. In short, no, Mac doesn't beat puff, and it's not even close. Mac is one of our top 5 best matchups and I'm really tired of people saying that it's even or Mac favored because Peanut rocked Hbox's world a million times over.
