I know, the whole time i just wanted to just scream in his face with the top of my lungs : you're the worst fucking father and husband in this waste land.
He's insane. 1. You can't just forge your identity(which would automatically reveal his relation) for a job application that requires a degree(which would have the real name on it, which then wouldn't match up with the forged identity). 2. How would a single person dispose of the canadian records of an entire tribe of natives, let alone the tribe itself? And even if he somehow did, that would leave holes in the bureaucratic machine everywhere (payments, contracts etc)
I was walking around in my local park while I listened to this. There's an area that most don't know about by the river. And I legitimately saw cayote tracks and deep barefoot human prints just as Aida spoke in that chilling voice. I live just north of Toronto Canada where versions of the wendigo myth originate, so there's that. Looking closer it was too wide and wobbly to be coyote tracks and was likely a dog, though the human tracks are a mystery. Why would anyone walk barefoot in a muddy riverbank no one ever goes to? Anyway I loved this story. 10/10
I don't usually care for horror stories; at the end of most of them all I feel is disgust rather than actual fear or a sense of mystery. This story was an exception in that regard, nice job.
Yes you did your research! Especially with the native humor. We don’t call them shamans they are medicine men, that reveal made me laugh. I liked how he piqued his interest about the Wendigo not being the only “monster” to exist.
Charli Martinez lmao bruh native Americans don’t consider us them. Even though we look alike. They’re racist when it comes to us. They consider us iPhone 4 while they’re the latest iPhone. So they really don’t want us near their culture and it’s shitty cause men like me wanna educate ourselves.

Charli Martinez I’m Afro Latino and I got that dark brown skin but hint of red there so like I know My native blood is in there. Yet they won’t accept me.
I can’t really tell. Did he actually care about his family? Or was he looking for it to get him off for murder? Because half the time it seemed like he was more concerned for himself, and then later on it seemed like he missed him family
I think it was a fair bit of both. He did say he was feeling regret for mistreating his son. And he definitely still cared for his wife, but then again, he did say he was a bad father and there wasn't "a spark" in his marriage anymore, so he was just as well trying to save his own hide.
I was wondering about that because for a bit it seemed like he had no love for his family whatsoever, but at other times it just seemed like stress was slowly seeping through the cracks of his relationships
he seems stressed and I can kinda understand where he is coming from. he seemed to love his family but I don't think he wasn't a good parent for someone with autism, which should be acknowledged to be extremely difficult for the parents. it seems like he isn't in a great relationship at the moment and that it is hurting everyone involved. He does care about his son but it was a matter of the kid being born with autism which can really mess a person up. I've thought about how I might deal with having an autistic kid and I don't think I would be the right person for that situation. the whole story was also extremely stressful for him and what would you do if a demon or some other mystical beast killed your family? would you feel like anyone would believe you?
wow that was unexpected his own brother in law misplacing files just to keep having the main character repeat this horrible story. honestly i thought the twist would be his brother in law or someone he knew was the wendigo. that is usually how these stories play out. so sad he couldn't save them yet the story was so chilling and scary. i loved it keep up the good work.
Jesus Christ, this story. I usually listen to stuff like this when driving to work or going to sleep. I couldn’t sleep on this one. I was disgusted by this character but remained hopeful he would be a super dynamic and would be a story of survival and eyes opening to become a better person, then that didn’t happen. Talk about a riveting story, I had goosebumps for a bit, I sat up in bed with my face in my hands during the scene with Marcus saying you hate me, this a kind of story I absolutely love but can only handle in small doses like this. Damn good job.
I was told that the Story of the Windigo came out of the Chippewa Indian Tribes of Minnesota's north woods. I retold the story of the Windigo for a 7th grade class writing project. The teacher was not impressed and gave me a D+. Several weeks later class was given another creative writing assignment that I wrote 30+ pages for that I earned an A+, and she had me read to the entire class. It was also with these writings that I HAD to get permissions from another person to use their name as the nemesis of that story. And so I learned that writing could be ... "fun".
Northern Minnesota definitely has a part of the history. I remember a friend of mine & I saw one of the stories about them that said that if one crosses your path, you're supposed to throw poo at it. Supernatural said fire, but that's probably because Hollywood wanted a cleaner kind of defense than poo. LOL!
So after months of confinement I’ve got a job coming up and I’m trying to get my sleep cycle back to normal. Went to bed 23 ish and left this playing to fall asleep to. Went in and out of sleep, the story blending into my dreams I suppose. I regret everything.

Now I don't know what his issue is with his son but it seems like he's distant because he has a disability. now is that real life and do parents actually get frustrated with their disabled children learning that they will NEVER have a normal child?
A lot of parents get frustrated when having a disabled child (depending on what kind of disability it is and depending on how patient and tolerant the parents are) but it's not because that child isn't going to be "normal" (the good type of parents wouldn't be at least), but because a disabled child is high maintenance and all that stuff. The difference is if those parents still love their child with all their heart or if they're almost disgusted by it. Tbh tho, I also don't know what this man's problem is. Like, you're son's disabled, that's how it is now, deal with it and do what a dad's supposed to do: Be there for him and love him. I rly got slightly upset everytime he shit-talked his own son in his head. Props to the mom, being the one good parent in this story
Not everyone is cut out to be a parent and far, far fewer are cut out to parent children with extremely high requirements of care. Even the kindest, most patient parents in the world will find their minds wandering to what their life would be like without the sleepless nights and exhausting days, and it's worth remembering we're in the protagonists head during the worst period of his life. He's not a good person, and he's probably always been a fairly shitty father, but 16 years of parenting someone the mental age of a small toddler would bring the worst out of anyone from time to time.
My best friends father thought it was better to just ignore it and tell doctors they were wrong. He never talked or tried to comfort his kids (almost all of them had a mental disability) told them therapy was for "Wrong" people, like going in there caused the issue. Got mad at me when i started therapy because it encouraged his kids to do it. Inevitably my friend lost it and put a gun to our friends head for not dating him.
And I love you came back your Dark World videos I wonder what next you can make other Cryptids are monsters from the fascinating world you're making the wendigo is my favorite
I really wanted to like this, Im starving for good wendigo stories but this was such a chore to get through. The story itself had so many great ideas in it so kudos for that. I don't know if it was the unlikable protagonist or the awkward dialogue during the suspense scenes but something just didn't click for me. Having previously listened to your Krampus story I know you're quite capable of spinning a creative yarn so I applaud you and look forward to the next one

For those waiting for episode 3, should be finished some time this century...
Great job keep the Good work up.
Much hopeful
That's reassuring lol, keep up the good work
That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even the 3rd episode may rise
Alright, I can wait until 2099, but not a year more
I don't think I have ever heard a story with such an infuriating, insufferable lead character.
The guy is a monster. I feel so bad for his son. Knowing his own dad hates him.
Try evangelion there’s always something to top it off
It was hard to feel sympathy for him, guy was a collosal prick.
I know, the whole time i just wanted to just scream in his face with the top of my lungs : you're the worst fucking father and husband in this waste land.
I agree and I think the wendigo was attracted to is greed for fame, and I would not be surprised if he is now possessed by the spirit.
So we don't know if he is actually insane or "his brother-in-law" is playing him. This was a great story.
He's insane.
