this is the kind of video i needed few years back when trying to learn mari 😂😂😂😂 amazing content as always really missed your tutorials
Amazing video! currently in school and you guys explained this waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better and clear! thank youuuuuuu I love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Yoooooooooo finally a FN video on Mari! I have the free version so this came at a perfect time!
You guys released this at just the right time, I've been getting into Mari after only having used Substance and was just watching your old Mari videos, so this is very handy and way more high quality haha. Will be checking out the course as well!
I was asking for the Intro to Mari in one of your previous videos and now u just released it 😍
The timing is crazy, I was just checking the FN exclusives like 2 days ago if there already is smth new about Mari. I appreciate your courses so much. Thanks guys!
What a coincidence I started texturing in Mari today am never opened Mari but your tutorial dropped on the same day 😮
3d coat is the next🔥Keep the awesome work 👏🏻
Yes finally.🎉
Now it's high time for a Modo beginners tutorial as well haha then the suite will be complete
@flippednormals can you please make your „making tutorials“ series a playlist?
It’s so hard to find them individually between all the other content.
Guys can you do a series on Houdini SOP network as well?
There are plenty of Houdini intro courses on the FX part, but I just want into on SOPs that only focuses on the procedural modeling part + Some vellum showing how to use it to create the clothes & stitching & Vellum Hair for static mesh with SOP for a character artist.
I really like this 46:30, but I have a question. If I have, for example, textures from quixel, albedo, roughness, disp, etc. How can I paint all those textures at the same time because painting is separate is imposible. Is there any workflow for that?
I wonder if Mari now supports the Wacom tablet 'Click and Tap" setting on windows (it worked on macs if I recall correctly). It's just one of those things that made it so frustrating to try and use 4-5 years ago , it completely put me off it.
I'm doing traditional 2D concept art drawing, before moving onto digital 2D
😅 "promo sm"
Chat, what do you prefer Mari or Substance Painter? I never used Mari before nevertheless it seems like I have seen more dope (awesome ) renders produce from it then SP.
Both are excellent tools, and I dont really have a preference tbh. Painter is simple to use but is lacking a lot of features, while Mari is feature rich but can be overkill for simple things.
@@FlippedNormals Thanks for the feedback, you guys are awesome!!!
After watching a lot of this tutorial, I would absolutely say learn Painter. Far easier, and more than enough power for 99% of texturing jobs.
When I get a lot of layers, both programs become slow for me. But it feels better to have Mari, because it becomes slow during the baking of my strokes and laying down the strokes is always smooth , while Substance Painter becomes slow while I'm doing the strokes, which makes it extremely frustrating to paint when you start getting 1 sps (stroke per second ) :D.
I'm running a 2070, and sometimes have dozens of layers, and never had a slowdown in workflow.@@mitkoogrozev
