Here's the thing, most Thai people doesn't know the difference between nuts and beans since they are, literally, use the same word. Which is ถั่ว (tua) So to all the nut allergic folks out there, be careful.
I'm Thai and I confirm all his opinion are honest and on point. the first dish is a modern version of "Hoy tod" which only have mussels (no shrimps) many traditional stall sell it along with "Pad Thai", but its true that many people hate it because how oily it is. many great thai food have peanuts in it like in sauce. especially that coconut ice cream normally have them on top giving a nice texture.
I admire the effort that he traveled to 4 different places for street foods. But the content does not match the title. He was basically having a bunch of snacks. He barely scratched the surface.
Well, thinking a bit here, he could pretty much only get snacks. If he did get more filling street food, he wouldn’t be able to finish this entire video without getting full, and if you’ve been full while still trying to eat food, it’s not enjoyable.

Even Thai ppl can’t get 50 baths for Mango sticky rice, even in the countryside it mostly starts at 60 for that size and for the popular areas it can cost 100, a lot of tourists think about “trap” but they just bargain for food at any shop even local, small shop😅
@@othodus On top of that, most of the time we can buy more mango but not the sticky rice, if they can sell the rice separately means they’re quite generous 😂
10:52 the green stuff is called pandan, you can find it in a lot of Thai desserts. it was also in that mango stick rice you had at the floating market as well!! p.s as a thai person, I really enjoy watching this video. Thank you for coming to Thailand, hope you have a good time here❤️😊
I'm Thai..and his opinion is mostly on point👏 well done And in case you see my comment... Most Thai people can't speak nor understand English especially the local or elderly people so be careful if you are allergic to peanut because a lot of our food recipes have peanut in it. The best way I can recommend is to try to tell them in Thai language. You could tell them that you "Phae Thua" (allergic to peanut) phae is sound like Pair but with no r sound and thua is kinda like tour but again no r sound at the end. Hope this help❤
Awesome video Nick! I’ve been watching you for a while now waiting for longer content, your cooking videos are informative and hilarious at the same time, but this is a cool switch up!
Your “soy sauce” is fish sauce, “condensed milk” is coconut milk, and most of Thai food is dip with flavorful sauce. Lots of Thai food has nuts and peppers. Good luck!
Damn, your comment is such a emotional damage for me as thai people 😅 เดาว่าไม่ใช่คนไทยใช่มั้ยคะ? เพราะว่ามั่วมากเลย - That's indeed soy sauce but it's Sour soy sauce (จิ๊กโฉ่ว) eating dumpling with fish sauce is so insane 😂 - That's NOT coconut milk but it was Evaporated milk, the dessert is butter sweet corn bowl and it's contain 5 simple things: corn, butter, salt, sugar and evaporated milk
She charged him 20bath more because it's tourist area as thai in my place it cost 80bath i know it's expensive but mango alone is already expensive you know
I’m a bit concerned when you say you’re allergic to peanuts because many Thai dishes contain some form of peanut. Thai people often use peanuts as a garnish and in sauces, such as in 6:14 , where the sauce is peanut sauce. And at 5:13 , he definitely doesn’t understand. He might have only understood the word 'nuts' and thought you were asking if there were any, so he nodded😅
You must use translator bro because some thais can only understand basic english. Also if you want to try saying no nuts in thai try "măi săi tuŏ" tuŏ means nuts in general, măi means no/don't, săi means insert/put on. So măi săi tuŏ means "don't put nuts in the food please"
as an allergic person i admire your courage, personally its really difficult for me go around eating anything because i’m utterly scared of any sort of allergic reaction i could possibly have
My son who was 21 years old now has a nut allergy and I see what he's gone through and he's gone through the EpiPens I believe twice when he was in grade school and once in high school so I know what you're feeling! Thanks for the great content!
As a thai I don’t really think that people eat these normally these things are mostly made for tourist be careful though people might sell stuff for more than it’s worth because they see you as a very rich person❤

I’ve got a question so someone with a nut allergy can eat bean? It's so sad that you and your team didn’t research Thai food in Thailand. Most of the food that you eat is a tourist trap. Actually, I am a Thai, and I have never eaten them in my life, haha. So funny. Please research on the internet before going somewhere in the world because it could tell that you have no knowledge of the food and culture in that place.

If you are allergic to peanuts, I recommend you to remember the Thai phrases to ask the seller because there are many Thai foods that contain peanuts and some are already mixed and cannot be ordered separately. you can ask "mee tua mai?" (Are there peanuts?) "Mee" means yes "Mai mee" means no If you are allergic anythings elas you can ask Mee ... mai? (Are there ....?)
18:32 Dancing shrimp is freshwater shrimp, not seawater. You are mistaken, so don't forget to take deworming pills.😓😓 The Thai Department of Public Health does not recommend eating this because of parasites and food poisoning.
I think you really miss the opportunity to try a very nice noodle at Chinatown. There is the difference between a tourist thai food and a local thai food
