Fun Fact: Paul McCartney has said that if John Lennon was still alive and they were all present, The Beatles would have reunited at the original Live Aid.

On the recording Paul ended up playing the bass, rhythm guitar and the guitar solo... And the drums on some of the songs on the White album! Amazing musician indeed :)

Bono says Ireland claims the Beatles since Liverpool has a huge Irish heritage. Paul's mother was Irish, I believe.
William Jordan lennon also had irish hertitage too. Both lennon and mccartney are irish surnames. Mac is the irish for son, and its used as a prefix. So it actualy means “son of cartney”, so somewhere way up pauls family tree is an irish fella called Cartney.
William Jordan and another random fact, anyone with O’ before their name (O’doherty, O’Driscoll and so on so forth) is also of irish decent. The O’ meaning ‘grandson of’. Sorry for rambling so long lol
Conor Murphy i thought mc as in McCartney was Scottish? The Irish have O’s, and lots of them, Scots Mc/Mac’s, Welsh surnames are all and without exception (...) Hughes, Davis, Davies or Jones and England’s most popular surname derives from what may once have been England most popular profession : the humble Smith. Many exceptions and cross overs. No prizes for guessing where a name like Conor Murphy comes from for instance. Must be the most common o-free surname in Ireland .

I still get the shivers with the first few chords - the Beatles sound ! Those of us older folks remember when the Sgt Peppers album (LP) came out and just turned the musical world upside down, and spaced out our heads, beginning with the psychedelic cover. It became our music, the music of our generation. And how well it holds out in this clip for a younger generation, with Bono getting into it with his heart and soul. Long live sir Paul.
