  • Planting trees has long been a symbol of hope for the future. Trees provide environmental, economic, social and spiritual benefits. They clean the air, protect our water, provide shade in days of heat and calm the soul.
Inspired by the desire to bring people together in the wake of Michael Brown's death and the protests and unrest that followed in Ferguson, President of the St. Louis City Board of Aldermen Lewis Reed came up with the idea of a community wide tree planting. After recruiting Donna Coble of Forest ReLeaf of Missouri to the effort, #Plant4PeaceSTL was born.
This video follows the story of #Plant4PeaceSTL as people throughout the St. Louis region come together with shovels, gloves and watering cans to express their commitment to peace in our community.
