Texas has very builder-friendly codes. Homes are cheaper because they’re built cheaper. 4 inch exterior walls instead of 6, poor water barriers, cardboard sheathing, foundations that warp and move. We spent more on our house in CA but we got a much better-built house. Don’t just look at dollars. You get what you pay for.
I never understood why the dining room is near the front entrance. I could see a formal living room. But, most homes are built this way now. Confusing to me. Beautiful home.

Well, I don't like these kind of houses. Ceiling are way too high. Who should install a lamp on the ceiling? You always need to pay someone. Who cleans the house. The house wife, staying at home mom? You somebody to pay for cleaning. I miss the cozy looking houses you can see in the 80s movies.
