I have a question on that topic(increase abutment criteria) in which u said if abutment are endodontically treated.. Are u talking about rct? Because when we chose abutment we are doing rct.. Then In all case like this abutment are rct treated for fpd
No all abutments are not root canal treated. We do the preparation on completely healthy tooth also whenever required like in such cases where there is a missing tooth and the patient wants a bridge (fpd) and anterior and posterior are healthy and by chance if the abutments lack height etc then we inform patient that we first need to do rct then we will use it as abutment or else you can consider normal healthy tooth/teeth as abutments.
