i want to ask a question the shoulder marginal reduction must be 1.5 to 2mm to accomodate enough bulk for material according to shillingburg can you please make me clear beacause in your ppt its 1to 1.5mm which is same as for chamfer than whats the diffrence butween 2 instead on margin angulation only
A lot of tutorials say things like "you should know that by now, so we won't go into it", or just don't see it necessary to cover basics. It's really good that you don't do that because everyone has gaps in knowledge or weren't taught things well or whatever. Especially in something like healthcare where everything we do has such significant implications, people are very often afraid to ask things that they "should know by now". So don't stop doing what you're doing!
again as im studying for my board exams, I appreciate your innate ability to make the hardest concept so easy to understand. To be honest, the matireal you present, you teach it better than the professor at school and I love your video game references, I am able to relate to all of them that you have made!!! The triforce in the legend of zelda !!
Wow! Ive been watching your videos lately and literally you’ve made it way easier for me to understand, I couldn’t have understood a lot of concepts without watching your videos. Thank you so much for detailing every topic so smoothly, you’re a blessing! ✨
Thanks Dr Ryan for these great videos! I would be very grateful if you could provide videos on how to do crown preps (anterior & posterior) on simulated teeth.
It's The Triforce of preparation and it's really rad! Miss one of those and it's pretty bad! Biologic, Mechanical and Esthetic too But with your bur, our tooth pulls through! Yeah, Go Core, Yeah, Get Crown! Wikki Wikki Wick!
Hi. You mentioned in part of you video(6:07) thinnest gingival tissue is lingual molars and facial premolars. I read it the thinnest part of gingival is around Maxillary canine and I assum is the same around Mn Canine as well. Could you please confirm this ? Thx in advance for your help. I love your videos.
Decks 2016-2017 says: "Occlusal point contacts between opposing teeth are preferred to broad, flat occlusal contacts to prevent wear" ("point contacts" is bolded)
Sure! Sorry for rushing through that last slide. The cusp to fossa scheme is when mandibular buccal cusps contact in maxillary fossa. The cusp to marginal ridge scheme is when mandibular buccal cusps contact in maxillary marginal ridges. It's a subtle difference--each one has their pros and cons, and crowns should be designed in the occlusal scheme that produces the best function and esthetics, which really can only be determined by trial and error through a diagnostic wax-up.
What does maxillary marginal ridge mean mesial marginal ridge or distal marginal ridge and still i could not get the concept what you mean to tell would you explain please

If we want to pick one factor for retention, would it be crown length or height? I Appreciate your response!! Thank you so much for all your wonderful work!!!
@@mentaldental yes,"sham-fur", THANK YOU!, after hearing you, I did google and found that it is "Dutch" pronounciation. I was pronouncing it wrong my whole final year, but glad that I found your channel before my finlas, which is from Tuesday 😁
3/4 & 7/8 are/were popular to show off you had money and could afford gold in your teeth. I’m not sure of the name of the trend right know but it is still around.

You mentioned that Heavy chamfer is used for some of all ceramics restorations , which ones ?
I swear if we were taught with more Zelda references I would've paid more attention in school.
Ryan. I have had high noble gold crowns. I have zirconia. In terms of bio compatibility zirconia is better than Gold, for me. FYI.
in the last slide, cusp to fossa shouldn't be class I and cusp to margin should be class II right??
what is the wide gold collars of pfm crowns? thank you
Nice one. I love it...
Thanks for watching! 😊
thank you, loved it
thanks for sharing
Im addicted to ur videos thank u so much doc🌹🌹

@@mentaldental Fantastic!
Thanku so much... Helped me in exam
Thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾
You are so welcome!
6:12 Do you mean buccal premolars, not facial premolars?
Could you explain the last slide? What do you mean by cusp-marginal ridge and cusp-fossa?

HI DR RYAN The ADEX exam is here, do we have to keep the measurements you give in this video for the board or do we use the ADEX ones?
Use the specific ADEX guidelines for the ADEX exam. 👍🏼
Thanks
Im very bad in the practical part of the tooth preparation please i need help how can i get better in tooth preparation?? Please 😞😞
If we want to pick one factor for retention, would it be crown length or height? I Appreciate your response!! Thank you so much for all your wonderful work!!!
Crown height is most important!
Mental Dental Thank you SO much! ( sorry for the mistakes in my question!!)
Sticky treat is Bit-O'-Honey for me. I freeze those suckers, though.
Merci
thanks 🌷
Can u explain wht does he mean by last slide , when he talked about cusp marginal ridge and cusp fossa??
Intacleo surface ?
Hey Ryan, thank you for your effort.
Could you make a video about PSI( periodontal screening index)?
Is it called schem-far or kem-far? 🤔 (Finish line)
Good question-I suppose the best pronunciation would be “sham-fur.”
@@mentaldental yes,"sham-fur", THANK YOU!, after hearing you, I did google and found that it is "Dutch" pronounciation. I was pronouncing it wrong my whole final year, but glad that I found your channel before my finlas, which is from Tuesday 😁
