I've heard that the Dash-3 rebuilds actually included an AC upgrade in addition to the braking and electronics and was very much welcomed by the crews.
I didn’t know these particular units had AC retrofits. Some GW roads down south were adding them, along with painting the cab roofs white. The 3500-series 38’s (all ex-UP) were delivered with them.

YES have a GOOD scanner radio ! a UNIDEN BC125AT and a GOOD antenna is ( GREAT ) for rail fanning Butler Pittsburgh NewCastle youngstown OH areas ! and PLease watch for ASSHOLE PIGS that are quick to harass the HELL out of u ! ! ! i have had no problems BUT have heard LOT'S of story's from others about being HARASSED big time ! ! !
