For popular local music, you can find most of them remixed or fused (fusions of the originals) in "Coke Studio Pakistan" (the original coke studio) and you can deep dive from s1 onwards...or you can reverse order from S15. "Pepsi battle of the bands" is as the name suggests a show that showcased our bands: rock, alternative, pop, Sufi rock etc...Nescafe Basement did originals and covers, mainly showcasing young talent, students etc, that are now very famous in their respective musical fields. The guy you came here for is Altamash and i think he sings for two rock bands in Pakistan one of which is takatak. These were/are all TV music shows but have their own youtube channels from where you can easily check out all the episodes/songs they broadcasted on TV. Hope that helps. If you want to check some singers on their own then you can check out Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Momina Mohtesan, for Rock you can check out Junoon and Karakorum and for rap you can check out Young Stunners and Faris Shafi. I never got around to looking for more of him, I really should have, that was killer. I hope to see more from Pakistan, Nescafe Basement and Coke Studio. Pakistan is what, the 3rd most populous place in the world, there are some very talented people, and the music is complex and usually 6-9 min long, time for the song to develop and play out. Love that you enjoyed these performances, like u I am also amazed why Altamash is not world wide famous, probably cz he is not from west, neither big sponsors for artists to go sing in the US like some other do. Strangely he is not even that famous in Pakistan as he dont produce much music, many great Pakistani singers are famous in region thou, but west is not much aware of them. Chech out Tu Jhoom by Naseebo and Abid, a typical sufi Pakistani song with great lyrics like most Pakistani songs (poetry is taken v seriously here). It has closed caption in Englist subtitles for u to ubderstand.

Although, there are many amazing english songs covers in the nescafe basement, but how about some “sufi hard rock” Go for “Gharoli Ghoom Charakhra” in the Nescafe Basement.
