Just from a couple vids so far, it looks like my mixed collection of hand me down army men and vehicles were very unique indeed. I played with them a lot in the 80s. And cherish them. The Americans and Germans from this set and Navarone seem to be some. I’ve was given blue German soldiers and dark tan British as well, not sure where they originated. Grey Germans yes, and white ones.
I got the Marx 1963 battleground play set came in the Sears wraparound box for Christmas my mother shopped at sears a lot. My father had one more year left before retiring in the Army so I was an army brat we still lived in military housing.
I received both the large and small set from this year. Wards had palm trees in the catalog, but received standard trees. Both boxes from wards did not have that litho on front.
Excellent example with a fantastic box! Great info. Indeed, '72 was a very good year for the Marx playsets! You seem to have a knack for obtaining quality sets. Well done! 👍
That does look to be in really amazing shape, thank you for showing us.
choking hazard 4 plus lol love the 70's

Wow that’s interesting on that small set you had! Out of curiosity do you still have those sets? Thanks for watching and commenting!
