- Today we are leaving Banda Aceh and heading to the edge of Indonesia and to the island of Pulau Weh. It doesn't get any further west than this in Indonesia.
When I arrived at the harbor I quickly meet Mr. Heri who recognized me from the other day when I came to the port. He set me up with a scooter for when I arrive so I don't have to haggle for a scooter and I will be able to quickly get on my way. If you would like to contact Mr. Heri, here is his contact information: +62 853-7360-1215. He can pick you up from the airport and provide any kind of assistance you need while you stay in Banda Aceh ✌️
Before getting on the ferry, I ate pretty much the only thing available and that was some nasi campur. Rice with fried fish and fried chicken and different kinds of veggies all mixed up together in curry sauce and chilis. Very good but sometimes kills the stomach.
I then take you around the ferry and give you an idea of what the ship looks like. Soon after takeoff, they started playing the jams on the speakers, we heard everything from U2 to the most popular genre of music in Indonesian called dangdut.
I arrive in Pulau Weh and I'm soon met by Edo and he sets me up with a scooter and we head to my hotel. I decided to stay at the Rihlah Resort Hotel because of its location. I plan on visiting the center of Sabang city later but at first, I wanted a chill spot by the water so I can relax and get some work done.

Yah, seratus ribu harga normalnya sewa motor di sabang, ada yang lebih mahal. Tahun 2018, kita bisa kembalikan mobil dengan kunci, dan uang sewa di dashboard. Tanpa harus bayar langsung, karena memang pemiliknya yang arahkan. Sangat aman di sabang...
Tapi sekarang sewa kendaraan memang harus bayar didepan. Kecuali sewa lebih hari, kekurangannya dibayar saat kita kembalikan.
Sabang sebelum pandemi sangat ramai wisatawan lokal. Wisatawan luar negeri yang sangat mencintai alam asli biasanya akan ke sabang.
Tapi fasilitas dan infrastruktur setelah pandemi sudah lebih baik dari sebelum pandemi.
Jauh lebih indah saat ini, banyak spot foto, wisata laut, hotel bertambah dan tata kota yang lebih rapi, bersih dan cantik.
Jadi sabang jauh lebih baik saat ini...

The villa looks cozy. Even though I prefer mountains than the beach but sitting on the balcony of the villa with a cup of hot coffee/tea & enjoying the beach view.. def. WOW😊✌
I stayed in that exact bungalow for three weeks. Perfectly relaxing setting. Would go back in a heartbeat.

My suggestion is find a room at iboih (teupin layeu), near Rubiah. Theres a lot of people, bungalows/ cottage and many coffe shop than Gapang

When you go to java. Make a tour to small town in Blitar, tulungagung, kediri, trenggalek dll in this area traditional snacks are various than mbah2 that sale lupis in jogya. In tulungagung and kediri there are special market that sale this food on certain day. Most of them called pasar senggol😄every java region have pasar senggol. Try it and make video of that. Thax
Hi, we went to Pulau weh 6 years ago and we return in January 2024, especially for snorkelling. Is it yet fantastic 😊 ?, I think we stayed in this beach but the resort don’t exist anymore. It was an Italian guy. How about the snorkeling and your resort ? Thank you for your reply ! Enjoy trip 😊

I Suggest for you trip with a bus ALS (Medan-Jember) 3100 KM for 5-7 days just Rp 700.000-800.000 No food service. So many videos can you make maybe 10 part or 15 part with many viewers. Because in Indonesia many Big fans for A Bus (Bus Mania).
You consider, because there will be unexpected things during the trip. but it will be an unforgettable experience.
