This was a great one guys! We really loved your experience at Arches National Park! That was a great time and season to go in there. Makes us wanna go back! Hiking poles! I love my poles and I feel like it helped me go places that would’ve been very difficult to go to on hikes if I didn’t have them. 👍🏼👏🏻 Happy late Anni you two! 30 years- WooHoo! 👍🏼🙌🏻🩷
Hello Dan and Lyndi, thank you for catching up on our videos. Tonight’s video was very special. As always we appreciate you both so much! Blessings, Stan and Rhonda🙏🏼❤️.
That was a breathtaking video, y'all!! We love the Moab area. We went to Arches NP and Canyonlands NP in 2013. It was our 35th Anniversary trip. We had driven past them for years traveling to Ogden UT to visit her folks, so we decided to we were going to go there and have lots of fun. The morning we were going to head out to Arches, I looked down the hall in the motel, and it was raining cats and dogs outside!! But we got breakfast and drove to get Dottie some good trail boots (Keens) and a rain parka, then off to the park. By the time we got out of the visitor center, the rain had stopped, and the sky was clearing. Unfortunately, it had rained so much that the roads to the north end were washed out, thus closed. Your hike was spectacular. Yes, 5 miles is a pretty good day hike. I can do that, but Dottie can't anymore due to her neuropathy. Old age ain't for sissies! Thanks for sharing your excellent videos of the hike. I will say that the kiosks along the trails explaining the geology, landscape, and plants are superb and very informative! We tried to eat at the Sunset Grill when we were there but couldn't find a place to park. They didn't have a shuttle then. Happy Belated Anniversary! We will celebrate our 46th Anniversary this September. Y'all are right - I love Dottie more now than I did when we were married. It seems like yesterday! Life goes by so quickly. Looking forward to your Durango adventure! Until then.... Safe travels, and God Bless y'all! Bob and Dottie
Bob and Dottie, We feel we are kindred spirits with the two of you! We absolutely LOVE how our travels cause you to recollect your travel memories from the same places. The fact you went to Arches to celebrate an anniversary and tried to have dinner at Sunset Grill is uncanny. Seems we have been drawn to a lot of the same places! Someday we hope to meet you both and have some great conversation face to face. Hopefully you’ll be on the road in your new rig for your anniversary! We recently saw a video on the new Grand Design Reflection 295RL and thought of you two. Friends of ours that we met on a Grand Design Imagine Factory tour recently bought one and love it! We are looking forward to seeing what you get 🫶 ~ Rhonda and Stan
@OverTheHillAdventures Hey y'all, it does seem we prefer the same places, doesn't it! That is uncanny!! There are a lot of places y'all haven't gone yet that y'all should that we really enjoy and would love to share with you and Rhonda (like Angel Fire, Eagle Nest and Taos NM). Another is a ride on the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad out of Chama NM. Maybe by then, we will have a new rig! We're staying with what we have for now (a Palomino SolAire 7 20RBS). It's easy to get into older RV parks that have tighter spaces. Besides, I just dropped $2700 on repairs and maintenance on it! A good end-of-year clearance sale would be about perfect, but we're still shopping. We really appreciate y'all's suggestions, though. When we get one, it will be less than 30 feet long, so plans are slowly moving forward! We really appreciate the great videos y'all produce. They're always fun, interesting, and informative. Keep up the great work, and let's see what we can do in the coming year! Take care, and God Bless Y'all! Bob and Dottie
Wow. Last week showed a very steep bike ride and this week you conquered a very steep hike. I keep thinking that your kids must be so proud of you for having all your adventures. @@OverTheHillAdventures Thank you Rhonda for this link. Jim & I just went to watch it and realized we had also watched it 1 year ago, and commented on it. For now, we aren't going to take the chance without applying for permits for each park (as the rules state) or avoid National Parks until they change it to be more "Content Creator friendly." The other thing we are going to do if we are at a National Park is to use only still photos in our videos, as that is allowed. We also find it odd and concerning that the individual that did the video you sent the link for only has 9 videos and none of them have anything to do with him actually being in, and filming in National Parks. Also, he posted that video about the permits a year ago, then one more video about a fire pit, and has not posted another video since!!! 😲🤔
The primary focus of the NPS, however, is on commercial filming that has the potential to impact park resources and visitors beyond what occurs from normal visitor use of park areas. Examples of this type of filming are productions that use substantial equipment such as sets and lighting, productions with crews that exceed 5 people, and filming in closed areas, wilderness areas, or in locations that would create conflicts with other visitors or harm sensitive resources. All filmers, no matter the size, must comply with all rules that apply in park areas, just like other visitors.

You will register for an account and fill out the application form online. There are no sign up fees or membership fees, but they do require bank account information. It will act like a debit card.
There is an overnight option. You can have them process your application within 48 hours for $20 bucks. They will send your card out to wherever you are staying, but you have to email them to let them know where. You will see all this info on the Application page. Hope this helps!
