I heard the other day that the cafeteria in Monsanto's headquarters is NON GMO. Funny how that works, yet we can't even get it labelled. It's appropriate that I'm watching this at 11:00AM on Remembrance Day while the ceremonial war planes fly over Toronto ironically, silencing Phil once again.
Mr. Donahue was a pioneer in Day Time Television. His return to Cable Television was both welcome and epic in nature. Chris Matthew's managed to weasel his way in and push Phil out which was a sad ending to a terrific career.
I opposed it and was the only one I knew that did. Most weren't sure. Some were hawkish. I was taking care of a quadriplegic at the time. He wanted the whole ball of wax. When I mentioned that he had one boy in college and another a senior in high school. He assured me that the college kid would get a deferment based on that alone. The other he would lie and testify that he was needed at home as part of his quad dads care for humanitarian reasons. In short, everyone else's kid could go fight this war he believed HAD to happen. Just not his.
Donahue's ouster for having an "unpopular" opinion is exhibit A on why dissent must be protected at all costs...and why corporations have outlived their usefulness..
It's all very well having a veterans day but why not a day to remember the innocent victims 'collateral damage' families, children and parents killed and wounded in war?
Diplomacy does need to come back. We really are not that different but discussion and debate are out the window. Now it is just kill them all. Is this what we a a nation have become??
