Yggdrasil are actually a tree 😅 It is the name of the immense cosmic tree that serves as the connection between the Nine Worlds in Scandinavian mythology, known as the World Tree. During vikingage Yggdrasil was symbolized by a giant ash where people in their sacred places made sacrifices to Odin, Thor and Frej for health, riches etc. It never ends up well for that Kenny guy with spike helmet 😅 This song are alittle more serious though
Same. Heard the song way back when it released (I'm younger only 22 but was into power metal during the time) and have jammed everything they've released. Now I also prescribe to some norse pagan stuff like wearing mjollnir, as I currently am. It's been amazing.
What a surprise 😃 more BoM so soon! ❤ Im glad you liked it. This songtopic are alittle more serious about traveling to the offering place where the mighty tree Yggdrasil stands. Great reaction ❤ Can you check out their song "One" next time, or "Mead"? This songs are more humorous, the music are oustanding though, not to mention Ylvas voice... ❤
@@amygoodson-catlady from the very beginning they werent serious, but the more people heard of them and liked their music they got more serious as a band, but the humour are always there. Having fun are important. 😃👌 🇸🇪
SKAL!!! Whats sad is a lot of us Americans with scandinavian roots have lost a lot of knowlage of our forfathers and it's sad. Much love and thank you!

Yggdrasil is the world tree in Norse Mythology, it's branches hold the 9 realms. At the roots of the tree is the realm of the dead / underworld (Niflheim and Helheim) and at the top of the tree is the realm of the gods / Valhalla (Asgard). Earth realm (Midgard) is in the middle. So the chorus "Rise above the mountains, light a fire in the sky, for the blood is running still from the roots of Yggdrasil. Rise above the mountains, light a fire in they sky, carry me to the hill, to the top of Yggdrasil" is talking about their dead bodies going down to the roots of the tree to Niflheim and their souls going up to the top of the tree to Asgard since they fell in battle and were deemed worthy to enter Odin's hall.

Since you wondered about the 3 figures in Rammsteins Zeit: those were Norns -lived at the roots of Yggdrasil and kept the tree hydrated..
This song got me hooked to them.
but the rest of the songs are much weaker :(

So they are a serious band! Thanks for adding info! I liked the gimmick or costuming, but the music isn't bad. I do like the story being told!

"The Mead song" is cool - and funny too 🤘😄👍
Yeah "Mead Song" 😅
Hel, Powersnake, Chainbreaker in addition to the ones already mentioned. So many good songs.
Go and see them live if you get the chance. I've seen them 4 times and they're a fantastic live band.
I hope to see them live one day whenever they're somewhat close
I saw them with gloryhammer and they were both awesome

Rockin Rodney Rules! 🤘
I love The Tragically Hip, btw. Much different genre, but good guitar based 80-90’s rock out of Canada.
Yes! Thanks Kent
