    I'd like to to see more of your dual/trisport builds. Maybe get with rado and do a budget build. I think a wr450 or crf450x might work on a budget if they could be plated in California.

    I don’t see the “old guy” mods such as comfy seat, wind protection, heated grips and seat, lowering link, weight reduction mods, detuned so easier power and lower maintenance required....

      I was watching this and thinking, oh ok, yep, right o, everything seems reasonable so will get those bits n bobs sorted and I am 57. Good to know I am not an "old guy" yet.

  • @nev357

    I am 57, own/ride 1290R Super Adventure (touring and gravel roads), DR650 (old guy adventure bike) and 350 EXC F (Lite weight single track, hill trails). I usually add, larger foot pegs, skid plate, Bark buster type hand guards, comfortable seat, sort out air box, exhaust and tune to suit, larger fuel tank, Mitas EO9 tires to all bikes and only 1290R gets wind protection, heated grips and set of luggage, EO10 tires. I don't ride fast enough to worry about radiator and engine guards or anything that relates to jumping or going stupid fast.

    Hey Jay, love your videos! I just recently upgraded to a 2020 KTM 500 EXC and have added many of the components that you listed. I have not yet hit the air boot, exhaust and ECU because I've got to do them all together and I haven't found a solution that clicks for me. I trust your knowledge and experience. Can you please list the specific parts that you would recommend? Many thanks!

    Hi , I am looking into a dualsport and I had in mind the 500exc-f... With just enough modd those can make 70hp while remaining reliable... Why would someone pick a 350 insted? Im really wondering whats all the hype about them. They are about the same weight if not the exact same but less power and less road capacity right? Can someone that know about them or own both tell me the biggest difference? I'd ride them all 4 season.. Maybe even with a snowtrack , im 23 and a alright rider... Im not pro by any mean but I am pretty aggresive on the throtle ( seeking answer )

      500 can feel like a lot more -- feel heavier etc-- - And tough too get real 70HP there -- curious who promoting those numbers

      @fourseasondirtbike2506 4 года назад

      @@dirtbiketv1 Those number are at the crank : www.bestdualsportbikes.com/ (in the section power bundle kit) Otherwise that would be from 48Hp to 59Hp at the wheel with their kit (on dyno) .. While looking at it they seem all out of stock.. Aniway not so sure anymore here in québec it cost 700$/years just to plated the bike and you are not insured yet... and dont have the bike yet :/ Seem like to much expensive for me in these pandemic time.. I'll wait maybe ktm will do promotion or something.

      I remember moving into dirt from street many years ago. It took about 6 months until one day I rode without dropping the bike. The skills from riding street to dirt don't translate well. But riding dirt to street works out great. Get a 230 or old 250 and crash it a lot and sell it back for the same price IMO.. DOnt expect your first bike to be shiny like Jay's after the first ride.

    • @brianh8484
      @brianh8484 4 года назад +2

      350's make most of their power on the top end (high revs) so they're super easy to ride in the bottom to mid range of the power curve. Pretty mellow in general until you really get on the gas. If you're tall enough and the size of the bike is easy to manage then 350's are a good choice. Stay away from 450's and 500's. If you have the money the newer bikes are nice because they have good brakes, nice suspension for trails, fuel injection and e start which all makes life easier. If you're on a tighter budget look for an old Honda xr250/400 or Yamaha ttr 250 etc. KDX 200 is a great 2 stroke trail bike. Also the terrain you ride in most and where you live can often dictate one bike being better than another

    • @dannuthals7045
      @dannuthals7045 4 года назад +1

      I mostly agree w LRT and Brian H. IMO a 350 is more bike than you need to learn, plus it will cost quite a bit more. I'm middle-aged, 6'1" 210 and had ridden street bikes on and off since I was 16. Last year my son (late 20's) and I decided we wanted to get a pair of dirt bikes. We ended up buying two 2019 Honda CRF250F. We got them each for $3700 new. Thought that was better than getting used MX bikes, which ended up being a good choice. We ride 100% trails. We rode those for 1 year+ and learned a lot about dirt bikes. We crashed some and learned what we needed for our "next" bike in regards to power and suspension. I can't stress enough getting an easy-to-ride 250 bike like this, because there is SO MUCH to learn on the dirt. Don't get a 450/500 as your first dirt bike - too much power. A 250 will take you everywhere you have the skills to go. In time, you will learn what you want/need to upgrade to more power. Enjoy!
      BTW, we just sold the Hondas for $3600 each and bought KTM 500 EXC's. By the time we finished getting these ready to ride, it cost us $10K more above price of the 250's. You could get a 350 as your first (and hopefully only) dirt bike, but the price of admission will be high because you will largely be looking at recent model KTM's, and a 350 will be a lot to handle for the first 100 hours or so.
