But Unlike Sultan Mustafa I the mad Sultan Osman iii was the only Ottoman sultan or the Ottoman Caliph who was locked in the Topkapı Palace Kafes for more than 51 years until his accession in 1754🇹🇷🐺👑!
Handan and Ahmed's teacher Mustafa Efendi(who is not shown in the series) were his de facto regents they were the ones who were making all of his decisions in his early reign,they were the ones who sent Safiye to Old Palace and spared the life of Mustafa and who were managing the state affairs. Ahmed was teenager and inexperienced that time he took full control of his sultanate in 1608 when his teacher died.
