I’m gonna try and say this without ego involved. I’m a writer. A novelist, to be specific. Point is, I use words for a living. I spend a lot of time studying other writers, because obviously that’s how you get better. Having said that, after watching this clip, I had to say this: Christ almighty, this guy is a wordsmith. For anyone who hasn’t been exposed to the theory/technique of writing as it pertains to the scientific approach of the craft, take my word for it - this guy is absolutely brilliant. Good writing (or in this case good poetry, because that’s basically what rap is), requires a certain degree of natural talent insofar as the writer must maintain a certain affinity for rhythm and a sort of intangible flow. Considering that...this guy just displayed complete mastery of said concepts. Personally, I listen to rap to extrapolate the lyrics as a means to try and gain insight into their creative process and delivery - which, again, is the only way anyone will ever get better at their discipline. But after hearing this clip, I felt the need to comment, because if anyone out there is trying to make it in the writing game, you need to study the best. And this, I assure you, is an example of that.

This was my intro to MGK. I was getting into freestyles in highschool (not myself, im trash) and saw some compilations with him, Hopsin, Mac Miller (R.I.P) and some more. Started listening to him and never went back. Music, especially his, got me through my bs at the time. Hope hes good cuz some of the things hes said and done recently dont look so good.
