People came to SMM1 out of fun, and most streaming didn't have a career - leading the community to set-up fun stuff, since they were.... having fun. In SMM2, most people were greedy for growth, still breaking into full-time streaming, and rather than have fun most treated it as a job. Going back to SMM1 brought that nostalgia - a few years late but hey. Can understand.

There was a RUclips ad poll about consoles apparently that referred to a “Switch Attach” so maybe you’ll get your wish. I would be shocked if Nintendo does anything like that or Switch U after the Wii U. Super Switch is on the table, I think.

As much Beast wants a Mario Maker 3, I'd like from him edited kaizo stuff again on YT. I mean endless is kinda boring. But hey, if you audience wants this, let's make it right? :/ Make some varieties, like kaizo, stealing WR, super Worlds, puzzles, popular levels, levels from the people you follow...

You have done lots of community things with mm2. Ironbros even though it ended up not working was pretty fun to watch and follow at first.
Multiplayer was also a thing - fun for awhile.
And there’s still the GDQ battles which have been amazing content.

I honestly think patching tech and different interactions were really good for maker 2. It made it a totally different game. Sure some of the stuff taken out sucked, but it feels like a different game. As long as they don't wreck kaizo and tech completely I think it's good

It was litteraly a normal Level that had a Bunch of secrets that wasn't even that hard to find to get the Pink coins. Even the drop where he died trying to get to the Snake block had the rail in the shape of an arrow pointing down

Haven't watched Thab's videos in a while, but decided to check this one out and the stuff he said about the differences in community between MM1 and MM2 were pretty interesting. I didn't notice it at the time, but looking back I think the lack of cool level contests and events might have held back MM2 in a way. Especially with channels like Lilkirbs showing cool levels to a really wide audience contest levels could be big in MM3 if people organize them.
