    Trails look amazing👍
    I ride some gnarly stuff in Hawaii and found the best rear tire setup for me is tubliss and a trials tire at 2 to 4 psi depending on grease factor. Currently using a Dunlop D 803.
    You should give it a try, works awesome on roots and rocks.

      Cool yah I’ve seen dudes run trials tires once in a while. I think around here JX8 is deemed kind of the ultimate gummy

    Did you check compression? What brake pad did you go with? It feels like the stock pads don't have enough metal in them. I would like something with a little more bite.

      I did not do a compression test. For our kind of riding which is more slow technical than high RPM hare a rambling I probably won’t even think about top end until 200 hours. I use EBC brakes, I really like them they have great stopping power without feeling grabby

    Far out I’m going through rear pads every 20 hours, fronts at 40 hours, linkage and swing arm bearings ok but greasing them very regularly

    Trails are looking to be in good condition. How long ago was this?

    • @thesmoness
      @thesmoness  Год назад

      Just yesterday - yah lots of work has been done for sure. Although just very wet and slick yesterday. Not helping that I’m so rusty still after a very long winter

    Have a 22’ as well, did the clutch spring mod make a big difference? Was thinking of doing the same

    • @thesmoness

      Put it to you this way. Just yesteday I went for ride with two guys on KTM's. They both took a turn on my bike and both of them commented specifically about the clutch pull being butter. The combo of the springs and the MW lever makes it less than half the stock pull.

      @@thesmoness nice, just ordered the mw lever, and I’ll try the springs, thanks!

    Does the smart carb live up to the mpg claims?

    • @thesmoness
      @thesmoness  Год назад +3

      I think it does even on a pretty hard technical grueling ride with a lot of uphill climbs I can manage around 80km before I go into reserve. But even just the lack of float bowl spewing gas on every tip over makes it worth it for me.

      That would be second gear I hit the hill in and looks and sounds like I did not down shift

    I'm guessing you are somewhere on the west side of the Coastal or Rocky mountains. I really want this bike more than a KTM or Husqvarna. Are they as good and reliable as they say?

    • @thesmoness
      @thesmoness  7 месяцев назад +2

      Vancouver BC area so yah west coast. The bike is excellent. Sherco motor has lots of low end power

    What were your thoughts on the 300 over the 250?

    • @thesmoness
      @thesmoness  Год назад +2

      Admittedly I have very little experience on a 250 2T. Everyone I know on a 2T seems to be a ripper. I think if your a very aggressive rider you can excel on a 2T. If you wan to lug your way through hard enduro terrain go 300.
