Brazil was discovered in 1500 so it was an empire. so it has been an independent country since 1802

I am Mexican and I have studied Latin American history, so I was surprised by the mistakes of the English speakers in the Hispanic flags.
Then I remembered that I cannot distinguish between the flags of Australia and New Zealand.
