I'm a local and with all this daily commuting nightmare, noise and routine I forget how beautiful it is! I love the abundance of art, entertainment and outdoors festivals here. And all the green jungle in the city centre! You can chill in the forest and forget that you are in the city! I think it's my fav thing about this place.
Lithuania is the best!!! Thanks for showing off it’s best.
my heart warms so much seeing you guys enjoy a city in my home country. miss lithuania, glad you guys enjoyed it!!

A wonderful city! Greetings from Romania.
I was following your journey through Poland as I'm polish from Poznań and I was so happy that you liked my city so much! Now I'm actually staying now in Vilnius on my Erasmus exchange! I felt in love with this city! It kinda reminds me Poznań in some ways for example population.
Sounds like we're on the same wavelength! So awesome that you're in Vilnius--it really is a super unique and incredible city :)
@@JackandGabExplore if you want to see something very unique in Lithuania I extremely recommend you sightseeing hill of crosses close to Siauliai. It's only 2h away from Vilnius but it's such a mysterious place.

Nice video and very well done. Totally agree with you that Vilnius is a hip, fun city that provides you a great European experience on a budget. Visited Vilnius, Lithuania for the 1st time in early September of this year and stayed on Vokiečių Street. Had a fantastic time visiting my ancestral home and enjoying Lithuanian cuisine and culture.
That's a super cool street to stay on. Glad you enjoyed and had a special visit!
@@JackandGabExplore BTW Vokiečių Gatvė literally means "German Street" (as in Street of Germans)
I'm so glad you enjoyed your time in my city
I am glad I happened upon this video you've got a new subscriber! Love your natural vlogging style, allowing the city to speak for itself on video with your own personal experience of it.
I’m half Lithuanian and would love to explore more of that side of my family. Beautiful country and love the language - hope to learn it in the near future. Thank for posting !
Yeah, Vilnius is pretty cool. I lived in Germany, Uk for 5 years, then 5 years ago came back to Lithuania and was amazed. Especially when I went to that street you talked about - Vokieciu gatve (German street). At night time its so cozy, especially on good wether. The center part is really cool place to hang around even for few days, IMO. Thanks for the vid. Hope you all the best!
Very cute couple, great rev thx
I live here so its not new but when its Chrismas its SOOO pretty!!!
Thank you to visit our country and our city ) Vilnius loves you 😉
❤❤❤
It's so good that people are coming to my country that I was born and saying that's it's great that's makes heart blow
Very sweet! So glad you enjoyed Old Town:)
Been wanting to visit the country of great Sabonis (basketball player) for many years. The fact that Lithuania (similarly to Poland and other central european countries) boasts a wonderful variety of forests and lakes makes it even more enticing. Im from the westernmost country in mainland Europe and our geography is very different.
Someday my dream is to visit Lithuania where my Grandparents came from.
My family is originally from Lithuania too! - Gab

Looks a lot like when I went to Krakow! Poland is a beautiful country and Lithuania looks like one too! I’ve met a few Lithuanians in the UK and they are friendly and gorgeous (both inside and outside!) people.
I love lithuania. I wish i can visit there soon 😍

What a quirky place! We love the art by the river 😁 hope your finger is better Jack!
So quirky and cute! His finger ended up being totally fine but we were a little nervous because he cut it on a rusty bridge...
I live in Lithuania and its pretty hard to find youtubers filming about Lithuania So its nice to hear

Lithuanian language has some words inspired from Sanskrit.
Heyooo, super nice of you visiting us here! Such a shame you only got to see Vilnius, as it's definitely not the last stop of beautiful sights to see here, in Lithuania. Everything from Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai to the museums and national parks (I'd really recommend a geology museum near Vilnius here, also visiting university faculties, those are beautiful, a cold war museum set up in a missile silo a little west). But probably I'd recommend to see Molėtai the most, the city and landscapes itself are beautiful, but going to the observatory at a clear 3am night is something on its own, you can't fit it within the confines of words. Hope you have a great time here with us!
Wow, great video, it is rare to see videos about the "hip" side of Vilnius. Thanks guys, best of luck!
Interesting destination! 🤩🤩
It definitely is! We had no idea how unique and quirky it would be :)
@@JackandGabExplore Cool! 👌

It is another awesome video! Vilnius is such a beautiful city!
Right?? We couldn't believe it - so impressed by the architecture and food
Beautiful awesome amazing video
It's so cool that you visited here !!! Hope you had a great time 😀
I want to visit Lithuania and other Baltic states. ❤
Lithuanians take good care of their capital, but a lot of Vilnius beauty comes from its "abundance" especially in the Uzupis area, where some buildings are worn down, but they look very cool and antique.
GERAS
So beautiful at night outside enjoy your night
So what's your opinions in general? I've heard that Lithuania is a true and genuine European experience, less watered down than other major European locations.
We absolutely loved Vilnius. The city has a really great energy and life to it--by far one of our favorite cities we've ever been to.
@@JackandGabExplore Vilnius native here, glad you enjoyed your stay! I am living abroad myself, whenever I get to visit it I love it so much more! Especially during the summer months, there is so much to do see there! The vibe is very different from the Western Europe.
@@fx4147 I've been in many western European cities. My unpopular opinion is that is just not the same Europe our parents and grandparents built. I've been thinking on moving somewhere in Central or Eastern Europe, but since I'm part Lithuanian I wanted to ask would that be a good choice?
@@crabLT it will be your best choise in your life😉 especialy if you are a part lithuanian👍
Simon Peterson hey man. It depends on many things. If you wish to move to Lithuania, the capital is the best option in my opinion. Personally, I love it. Its a good place to take a step back and to recharge. If you have the option and the means to travel, thats perfect.
I wanna travel here

Vilnius is my hometown and i know that it's a nice place to be and to live, but personally for me it's looks pretty much like ordinary city of Europe, i mean, there are not really much things to get excited of or surprised to. But it's really nice to hear kind words from tourists and from you guys about our Capital of Lithuania !
Glad you enjoyed our perspective on your city!! We really loved it there and it felt unique to us
Yeah, try to leave VIlnius for a number of years and then return. See what you say then.
Galėjai patylėt, prieš užsieniečius apie savo šalį gerai arba nieko, plius bekultūris esi, jei nieko nuostabaus Vilniuje nematei.
August P lmao ,since when is it forbided to state your oppinion ,even more ,have one 💀
Lately Vilnius old centre's beauty and uniqueness is being slowly destroyed by new large scale constructions, especially by those obnoxious glass skyscrapers that are just a stone's throw away from old town and are visible in main historical panoramas. Many small, old and special, at least century old buildings have been demolished in old town just to build profitable large and dense new apartment complexes or office buildings.
Booked a flight to Vilnius in January what would you recommend to do and see for a young travel couple 😊
Beautiful ❤️
GUYS, came back in begining of June. There is Culture Night. Theater, art, performances all across old town. It is amazing :)
I love Vilnius!!!
Nice video looks like a cool city. I didn't realize you guys posted your videos at a latter date. I was surprised to hear it was mid September.
Super cool. Yup we're at about a 2 week delay from when we film a video to when it goes up on RUclips. We're working to decrease the time gap but it can be tricky because video editing is time consuming!
Gözəl, xudmani bir şəhərdir.
ben er net van terug ,drie dagen met mijn dochter geweest ,echt geweldig
Nice video and channel. Subscribed😍👍
I Love Lithuania🇱🇹❤️
Love from Philippines 🇵🇭❤️
Never wade into the rivers of Lithuanian cities and villages, as they may still contain shards of glass, sharp metal or plastic objects or their remains. There is still a bad Soviet mentality in our country and still are hooligans who throw these things into the bodys of water. In addition, our water bodies are rarely cleaned, or not cleaned at all, in places of interest. ;) Good time in my city!

Hi Guys. Vegetarian falafel- my staples and favourites back as a student in late 90s and early 2000s. Veggie stuff were taking on back then in Poland .
That Literatu street looks amazing. 'Specially with the Frank Zappa one.
Frank Zappa's Hot Rats released 50 years ago today, by the way.
Great video, guys.
Stay safe.
So awesome! It's so funny because as far as we can tell Frank Zappa doesn't really have much to do with Vilnius or Lithuania they just really loved his music when they were forming the Uzupis Republic 😂😂😂
Nyonyo Reservoir thank u guys!! Awesome video!
Between 01:59 to 02:02 people walking backwards :P Anyhow cool city exploring video of Vilnius guys :D
Hahahaha you're right!! Sometimes we don't catch little things like that during the edits 😂 Glad you enjoyed the video!
Really nice video :D
I went to there in the summer and my tip would be to eat in Pirmas blynas, a restaurant where they hire people with a disability. Staf speaks also English!
nice cam quality.thanks for reportage!
I’m going there this Thursday! Our hotel is paid for, and we don’t do much drinking, we love our sights, that’s my three friends and I. How much do you spend per day if you’re being sensible?
That's awesome you're going to have a great time! I would say you can be there for pretty cheap--less than 50 euros/day per person easily!
Vilnius universary is oldest in eastern europe
That's awesome!
We are not Eastern Europe by the way.
What’s a Universary?:)
That's true and false at the same time. Since Lithuania owned a lot of Eastern European(Ruthenian) lands, it was then an Eastern European country. But ethnic Lithuania was always Northern European. Hence this fact is incorrect when using it in this current timeline.
Nope the oldest is in Kaunas , Karaliaus mindaugas university, dont lie
Ooo turbūt tau patiko I'm a speek Lithuania and I'm live HEREEEEEE 😋🤔
Greetings from Lithuania, Kaunas did you visited Kaunas before? It is very beautiful like Vilnius but maybe Kaunas is more greenish I mean much green nature
Great video, people think that Lithuania is another commie country (or even a part of Russia) with nothing much to it, but we have a lot of beautiful things to explore and tour around.
Please tell me where is this in town 0:30 ?
Nevermind, I found it later in the video!
Nice video btw! Cant wait to visit town
Great review. Hope you enjoyed ! ;)
Thanks!! We definitely did enjoy. Super cool city
Super
Pretty city
Beautiful video and I need to bring some correction. HBO series Chernobyl was filmed in Lithuania for one particular reason: there is the same type nuclear plant here that closely resembles Chernobyl plant. The difference is that Lithuanian plant was much newer and bigger and it never exploded - Lithuania willingly gave up atomic energy for sake of ecology and closed it down in 2014. But the actual building is still there - NOT as destroyed or run down as Chernobyl's was after explosion, which makes it perfect for filming it. The nuclear plant is 200 km away from Vilnius, in different town. 90% of movie was filmed over there. Now, only few parts of the movie were filmed in actual city of Vilnius - in particular residential area outside downtown. Vilnius as the city by no means resembles the town of Pripyat in Ukraine - that was a small artificial town build with concrete apartment blocks and DID NOT have any UNESCO historical old town like Vilnius. The residential area of Vilnius where it was filmed has some similar types of concrete buildings but even them look different in much more maintained stage and cozy environment around them. The city of Pripyat after accident is completely ran down, deteriorated, abandoned and terrible. Your part of the video where you comparing Pripyat with Vilnius may confuse people that Vilnius looks like Chernobyl. Not at all - Chernobyl was dreadful small town even before the accident. Vilnius was always a capital of a country with flourishing parks, architecture etc. Thank you and Love - :-)
I don't wanna rain on your parade here, but closing down Visaginas nuclear plant has nothing to do with ecology. Nuclear plant is most eco-friendly from all other types of electric plants, for example thermo plants constantly emits CO2 through burning coal/oil or gas, hydro plants causes various problems with river ecosystems past the dam. While used nuclear fuel is burried into deep storage and does nothing to nature if stored properly. Visaginas plant was closed down because Europe does did not need one more cheap electricity seller in market, which would force other sellers to lover their electricity prices. Simple business.

Well...that contributed, too.
But you do sound like russian speaking hater of Lithuania. Maybe your name even not real... You are negative about this country. Am I right!
Ah, Vilnius i was born in here, many thing are there. The tower on the hills called "Gedimino pilis" and a old town. Feel's nice to come in here even tho the language is very old here, even the country too. And if you still on go to the hills of crosses in Lithuania.
