I looked more into Keemstar's battle with Kpop Stans. I saw so many twitter comments very similar to the kind that I myself got when I put out that Josh interview. I won't lie it triggered a bit of trauma. They got angry Void allegedly attacked a dead idol, but here Kpop Stans are, attacking a dead MOTHER. I ask you stans again, how are YOU any better than the people you ridicule? This is why I RARELY ever take the kpop fandom seriously.

About the “Everyone’s a racist” line, he was mocking kpop stans for using the race card to deflect criticism. If you look at posts by people criticizing kpop, a lot of the replies will be stans accusing them of being racist against Asian people even if the criticism has nothing to do with race. This line was basically void trying to get out ahead of all the people who would accuse him of being racist.

I think it’s even good they talked about it, so that more people know that it is a problem. But it somehow doesn’t feel right to use his pictures. It’s not bc it’s Jonghyun, but just because it’s a real funeral. If they picked a random one from the internet and suddenly you see that there are pictures from someone of your family their funeral, I don’t think you would like that, would you? They could’ve just used a random coffin for example. People would still know it’s about Jonghyun, Goo Hara, sulli and so many more. I am a young Korean man who has gone through a rough life and has had some of the worst mental health there is and I have had many thoughts of suicide throughout my life and what's more is that I myself am entering the Korean entertainment industry very soon which is another roadblock that is up for grabs on whether it will do me good or push me down even further than I already am in my current state. Hearing this made me cry and tear up as this hit close to home as I have always been a proud Shawol for years and especially a Jonghyun Stan, when I found out about his death even more so that it was a suicide not only did I find my idol, someone so close and relatable lost, I also lost a piece of myself. KeemStar and Void or whomever your real names are to be I want you to realize what your actions are and what you did and take both responsibility for your actions. This is not okay especially in that you both are influencers to many people abroad reaching many countries and ethnicities, even children. You mocked what so many people desperately try to hold onto. I used to be a fan of Keemstar but after knowing that he mocked my people and other suicidal victims I don't think I want anything to do with him any more. Hey, thank you for discussing about this! I found myself agree to a lot of points you're trying to say here. I am also someone who listens to a lot of various music (but especially kpop and shinee are the main preference), so I also understand both sides. But really, i found this track is ignorant especially on the matter of Jonghyun's part.
Please let me add my thoughts too as a fan of Jonghyun. I understand the points that Void and Keemstar tried to say, and I understand how diss track is supposed to be harsh and 'troll' although there are things I am not really agree with in this track. I would normally just leave it and not commenting or even paying attention to things I dont prefer to listen, but what upsets me the most is the fact that they HAD TO put Jonghyun's funeral photo. I found it so insensitive. They didnt even blur out the SHINee members, Jonghyun's colleagues AND his REAL sister faces who were obviously crying. They could have been chosen a lot of other ways to visualize their points. With symbolism or metaphor. Putting the funeral photo with all of Jonghyun's colleagues and family in it for entertainment purpose is disappointing. Now, a lot of people who didnt know Jonghyun before and see him the first time thru this track video, would look at him as some sort of tragedy rather than trying to know his music, which he loved the most when he was alive; the thing that he had been working all of his life. Because of rage, criticism or maybe 'care' that Keemstar and Void have towards kpop stans, Jonghyun who had been dedicating his life for music and people around him, would be known as something else (in a negative way), which is disappointing for me and his fans because we all know who Jonghyun is and what he always worried about. The man never did anything wrong to people, only did good deeds and only did music which he loved so much. His family and colleague also have nothing against Keemstar / Void, they dont deserve to be treated like that. It was such a traumatic event that Keemstar and Void had included and I believe, no traumatic events has to be used for entertainment. No.
I am not defending the kpop fans who talked harshly to Keemstar / Void, because they are wrong as well for even sending death threats and talking about Keemstar's mother who passed away and I AM NOT agree at all with those kpop fans who just worsen everything, in my eyes they are not any different than Keemstar and Void who made fun of Jonghyun's death like this. I only defend Kim Jonghyun, the one I really care about and being treated like this so unfairly even after hes not in here anymore. Like, please leave him alone. Stop using him for entertainment.
Also I know there are people that gonna read this comment, and if you are on the opposite side from mine and have thought bad things about Jonghyun just because of my speech, pls don't think of replying.

Jonghyun’s family didn’t want press at the funeral so Shawols (Shinee’s fandom) did everything they could to avoid those pictures in respect of their will and Jonghyun’s honour. But these men (Keemstar and Void, not you) just spread them like it’s nothing and that disgusts me to my core.. I’m actually still shaking because I too (Shawol since 2014) did everything I could to avoid those pictures so that was the first time I saw them. Jonghyun wouldn’t have wanted to have his pictures used in that way, he wanted happiness not whatever chaos they spread..
I’m fine with whatever else was in the song, that’s just his opinion (which is weird as they know like nothing about kpop, and didn’t do any in dept research, but whatever I guess..) and everyone’s entitled to their opinion. But it’s honestly like me making a diss track about sports after watching the sports channel for 10 minutes and then browsing twt for just as long, researching the death of some kind of player and then just putting a mediocre song together(probably also for like only 10 minutes..). What I’m trying to say is that it’s pure bs because he has like no authority on the topic, if a k-pop RUclipsr or a music researcher(k-pop based) had done this it would have had way more impact..
This was just their way of trying to stay relevant, because bad publicity is better then no publicity, and we k-pop fans fell into the trap again (and right after the Grammys too..) I hate that we’ve become this easy target just because we’re giant (+- 30 million fans alone for just BTS..). But I guess that’s mostly their problem as we’re living in their head rent free..

I think the points about the industry being harmful are certainly valid, but when it’s used as a way to put down the idols or say that stans shouldn’t support them, that’s a bit different in terms of implications. I also saw another comment on another video about how stans, as you said too, KNOW this, and a lot of people don’t acknowledge that a decent portion of stans are smarter than this.
In terms of judging the whole fandom, though, yeah fair a lot of Kpop stans are quick to cancel people, but there are also so many who always get shit on for being a “toxic Kpop stan” even though they aren’t. It’s a matter of letting the loudest portion of a group look like the largest portion, too.
I guess even though it holds truth, it’s something that’s just pushed in Kpop stans’ faces far too often for us to not be sick and tired of hearing it. But honestly, yeah, it was obvious that it was a joke and not meant to be taken seriously, and Keemstar in specific didn’t deserve the extent of hate that he got for it.

Coming from a kpop fan myself, I don't agree that idols should starve themselves, i would accept them and love them the same the way they are. The relationship situation, Not all fans disagree with idols dating. And while there may be some toxic fans who believe that idols shouldn't date, I'm sure i'm not the only fan who accepts idols relationships. I believe that all idols should be able to live their own live. Companies mistreating their idols is a things in which i do not agree with as well. My problem is that they dont know Jonghyun nor do they know how his depression was he was dealing with depression even way before he was an idol. Thats what ircs me he stated countless times how much he loves his fans and his Job and you could tell. However he was always vocal about his mental health and about how it has affected him his entire life. Using him to fit your own narrative of what the kpop industry is like is just wrong. I had no problem with it being a disstrack but if you wanna diss something you gotta know about it and if you have to post like 5 statements just to explain what you meant maybe you're a trash lyricist. Jonghyun is not some tragic example he was a person with complex problems and just brushing it under "the kpop industry" is disgusting.
And what actually bothered me more than the track itself were the commentary after. Because people expressed genuine concern at first and just kindly asked to remove it when keemstar posted that idiotic video ranting about how non of our emotions are valid because words can't hurt(according to him) and mental health is fake etc. So thats when the comments about his mom took off.(Im not saying thats right but i feel like its missing context)

I can’t agree more on how most kpop Stan are infact toxic but this diss track doesn’t help that situation in any way not only is he generalizing the whole fandom it self, he’s being disrespectful toward someone’s suicide and blaming the suicide on the fans. I deff think he could’ve had a better approach and he wouldn’t have backlash at this point he’s making kpop look very bad. And I understand the people that don’t like kpop especially because of the fandom but for the people who just hate kpop to the point they have no logic behind it like saying “they’re all gay” or “untalented” is the reason why most kpop stans end up to be “sensitive” or “over protective” towards their idols. There are way to many kpop idols that have committed suicide because of how much hate they get towards them. And if your kpop hater, plz don’t be like that you can not like kpop but approaching it the way this “rapper” guy did was so disrespectful maybe just look at the good side and also plz don’t misrepresent that every kpop Stan/fan are toxic 💜

When I made that first diss track it was more of just a joke/for fun song however after creating it I spent alot of time looking into kpop as a whole and was truely heartbroken from the things I saw and learned I pray things get better for these idols but this change only really starts with the fans - void

"Stan ..." in the kpop community the word stan has definitely been used as another word for fan. For extreme fans we usually call them sasaengs which are the stalker, obsessive, creepy fans.

So like when people say smoking on a tooka pack (tooka was a young boy who lost his life by a bus stop to a gang), thats what he means by smoking on a kpop pack.
Also I feel as though how you're veiwing the diss and how others are veiwing it is substantially different. His diss was not crticism on most turns of the verses. The majority of "points" he was making were in fact insults toward idols and the industry such as what he said about their eating disorders and suicide, however in a few verses he lightly condemned a few other bad actions relatively found in the industry. This however, did not excuse his actions.

Even though I think it was very disrespectful the suicid3 part, as A kpop stan I believe, it's an important matter that almost everyone tries to forget it has happened, I believe in a way, for a diss track they took advantage and it worked their purpose, (enrage the fans), it shows how bad the kpop world is constructed and controlled and its somethings it should be mentioned more because it keeps happening and everyone just keeps ignoring.

Most of those a dislikes were just mad K- Pop and he knew going into it it was going to get a lot of dislikes like most diss tracts do. It made him get new people to check out his content and that gave him more people to like his content. Also I don’t think any thing that he did was that over the top the suicide part was basically saying how much pressure is getting put on the K-Pop Idols and it causes them to kill themselves and using the pictures I don’t really see the problem with. I don’t see how it is disrespectful cause he is using it to make at point that the corporations and fans can push them over the edge.

The kpop industry is not perfect. Far from it but no industry is perfect. It's just easy to sit back and judge something that isn't ours. Disney and other big companies churned out a lot of fucked up kids and Hollywood is full of people starving themselves or getting surgery to fit a certain image. There's also a list of famous people who have committed suicide. Depression doesn't care about your nationality. The extreme scrunity celebrities live under doesn't help their depression and that has been discussed a lot but kpop isn't the only industry where people are depressed.
