While she obviously played well enough to get to 3 - 3, she was a bit fortunate to win the decider -- after potting the yellow (which via a poor safety Bai carelessly left), the frame was Thomond's to lose -- and he somehow managed to do that -- excellent pink however
That tactical play in the beginning is an encouraging sign to me. They obviously weren't the most difficult shots but you often see these young up-and-coming players who manage to do pretty well by just potting everything and playing extremely aggressive and they get away with missing some shots because their opponent isn't strong enough to really take advantage of mistakes. But as soon as they come up against a more mature, clever player, they just have terrible safety shots and safety replies and lose it on those shots. I'm thinking of people like Ben Mertens or Stan Moody or Iulian Boiko. The fact that she's playing these safety shots so well (mostly) makes her a much more interesting prospect to me.
Why isn't this streamed anywhere? Q School really should be streamed. It is such a massive event for so many players from more and more countries. There really should be produced a broadcast akin to the judgment day world championship qualifiers.
Josh got no luck after getting out of a couple of difficult snookers, it made it a lot easier for his opponent to get another snooker, at the end of a tight decider we all need that little run of the ball
She totally deserved that after taking her courage in her hands and going for that all or nothing pink. Shows why she is the reigning women’s world champion.
Well, she's not. But, she and a couple of the other top ladies raise their game considerably when they play men. It becomes a more open field when they play each other. Very scrappy matches even at the final stages of the Worlds this year.
Well played Bai, but next lesson Thomond needs to work on his choice of shot getting out of snookers. That escape off the side cushion should have been made with a lot more pace to get distance between white and red, instead of playing it so soft to leave Bai an easy chance to get him in trouble again. Youcannot keep handing command of the table over to your opponent and expect to win.
11:55 and 11:59 two unnecessary movement of the hands while she is stroking on the game ball....some say it is nerves some say it shouldnt matter I SAY fking BS ive seen this trick so many times Immonen being the master at it.Why is it so hard to sit still.
Ronnie is right, the standard these days is rubbish. Joshua had 85 chances to finish the match but ended up losing. You can't expect to compete at a high level playing like that. If these players are here to make money then maybe other careers should be considered....
That's a bit harsh isn't it! Ronnie is a phenom...he's also full of crap! This is Qualifying School, if people want to enter and give it a go, then where's the harm. Whta would be better in your opinion? I'm not good enough, best just give up then! I'm pretty sure that there are good Solicitors and bad Solicitors, good Doctors and bad Doctors, good train drivers and bad train drivers. As long as they are proficient enough to be able to navigate the role on a daily basis that's probably enough.
@@slottyken the difference is that bad solicitors and bad doctors are still making money. Its great to dream but you need to be realistic too. Even at qualifying you got to be better than that. This was like watching casual club Snooker. It'd be a shame to see someone wasting their life trying to make a living out of snooker when they could do better financially and probably mentally elsewhere. Agreed, Ronnie calling people Numpties was wrong but he's got a point when talking about how poor the standard is coming through. If it continues at this level then snooker will decline.
@@okhan21 Ronnie is one of the few top pros (if not the only one) who says the overall quality of players is declining. Many of the other top players say the general quality of pro players from top to bottom has in fact never been better than it is today. Hendry said on his channel that, “On their day, any player on the circuit is capable of winning the World Championship”.
@@khmak9387 It is very tough to even qualify as a pro. The year before Reanne played on the pro tour, she entered an English qualifying tour. The top player from that qualified as a pro & the next 16 played off for a 2nd pro spot. She came around 20-30 of 60, which is very respectable. She was then given a wild card. I can understand why: to promote the sport for women. I also feel it was unfair on those who finished above her on that tour & did not qualify. Many players struggle in their first season as a pro because their game needs to be a lot sharper to compete & there are a lot more players on the tour than we usually get to see on TV, so it is rare that we get to see any new player for a year or 2. By the time they have adjusted, it is too late (which is why qualifiers now get 2 years on the tour). I reffed Reanne again after she dropped off the pro tour & she was a very different player.
What is all hype with her? Will get batteree on tour, and shouldnt have even won this! Standard so poor, josh should of finished this game about 50 times, congrats on the 2 years of losing every time in the first rounds though.
Can you imagine playing while knowing that your next mistake can ruin your chances for the entire year? You may think of it as just a game & that a local club player can make any of the shots, but it takes years of hard work to become consistent enough to compete at this level.
She's very good, no doubt about that. However, I'm still not a fan of women playing in the man's game. It isn't a question of ability. The majority of fans (even the female ones) want to see same sex people competing. To put women into men's tournaments only confuses matters. Eventually you will have the problem of trans players (there already is) and then it will be something else. If you want to build the women game that's OK. If however, women play against men it will only devalue and diminish the women game as the best players get taken out of the pool. That will have a long term negative effect on the women game and indeed the game as a whole. If women want to play snooker that's fine. If they want to practise with men, that's also fine, I used to practice with Vera Selby. But setting the sexes against each other is an all around bad idea. It will only create a men v women mindset which will ultimately be destructive when we should be encouraging men and women to work together. Why not have the odd mixed doubles tournament instead? That would work. The current situation just doesn't work for me. The women by and large are a bit dull to watch, they take forever to play their shots and it doesn't make for good TV. Then again, I could say the same about quite a few of the men.
Are you somehow stupid? For once we have a sport where physical attributes play no role. Let the bitches and pronoun people and whoever want to take a crack at it, all together.
Can you cite the poll showing that a majority of snooker fans are against this? How do you feel about senior players like Jimmy White and Stephen Hendry getting wild card invitations to tournaments?

She is and will be the best woman snooker player we'll ever witness👏👏 I have seen her making 140+ breaks in a tournament
That's only supposition

The pink ! Tour card on the line, was superb
Q School at its very best. Brilliant game and Bai a worthy winner. Well done both.
Nice win. Heart in mouth moment on the black, bet she was watching that in slow motion.
Bai Yulu is simply AMAZING!!! ❤

Yes. I love the way her eyes flash just as she's about to take a shot and she has the cutest nose ...
Very well played. Will be one to look out for in the future.

awesome pot on the pink, hope she qualify proper
I am a sucker for a good safety battle, but could you please refrain from announcing the winner in the title in future videos? Thanks!
Cracking pink and some decent snookers early on
She's the only girl that deserves to be on the main tour, she has potential, Evans is a waste of space
@Wayne Anthony Holmes agree. Both girls play pretty good
Yes, she is cute.
Why isn't there any, Audio,(SOUND),!!!!??????

Good win for Bai. Gravy chin had been scoring quite decently in both events

Aren't snooker competitions separated by gender?
There are no men's tournaments: There are open ones & women's ones.
