Fun Fact: For Return of the Jedi, the Emperor's chair was mechanized so that it could rotate when the scene called for it. However, the mechanism never worked properly, so Ian McDiarmid had to make it move by shuffling his feet. A piece of tape on the floor told him when to stop so it would not be visible to the camera.

The scary thing about Wargames is that it very nearly happened in real life about a decade and a half later. Russian radar misinterpreted weather balloons as ICBMs, and had the officer in charge followed orders, we'd be in a nuclear war right now. And just like in the movie, a computer glitch really did cause a false launch detection in a different incident.

Hi, a slight side track but still about film: can you plase create a tribute to the late and amazing Kevin Conroy? He passed away last year, and was the sole reason I got into acting. On MsMojo there was a video about the best voice acting in animatedmovies and I think he should've been included for his role in Batman the Mask of Phantasm (the scene at the cementary). I have a VA background and there are some preconceived notions that it's not as demanding as regular acting; but the vocal training itself and perfecting the craft may take more time than any acting school. l feel like he's very underrated as Batman and even non existent in the conversation.
PS. You almost saw me as Leon in those new Resident Evil games :)

It's a movie that I have seen multiple times on the CBC as well as other Canadian TV stations. I would have been too young to have actually seen the movie in 1983. It was always a little 'whatever' for the plot, but I loved watching it for the animation and background paintings. It was like OVA Japanese animation made in Canada.

I sure as hell remember that, 'face ripping Aliens'
    'Fangoria Magazine Cover!!!'
It may not be time yet for Robert England's Freddy, to grace the cover, (more times than any other actor) but if it wasn't for 'V' , the Nightmares that haunted us the rest of the decade, may never have been...

Well, considering Roger Moore was in Cannonball Run, back in 81. That movie could have been a curse for both,
although 5 year old me, could never get enough of
    'Cannonball Run'

I know that the Star Wars movie of all time came out in '83 and that's something.

"Some extraterrestrials _aren't_ friendly." Well now I'm even _more_ pissed at critics who bitched about The Thing being "too dark" and "cynical" for coming out two weeks after E.T.!

    Gotta agree with "ValleyGirl"... 😆
Still, Ep. VI is one of my favorite theater memories at age 5.
BTW, "Puberty Blues" was one of the influences on "Barbie" and was made into a TV miniseries in the 2000s.

I typically listen to these at work and don't look at the screen because work reasons. But I picked up the phone and looked at the screen right when the dummy got pushed under the wheel in "New Barbarians" and about died laughing

My wife and I actually really like The Sting II, and I was very impressed with Lalo Schifrin's score, especially his use of Joplin's and Chauvin's rag Heliotrope Bouquet. The only thing about the film I really didn't care for was the choice to use boxing to carry out the sting.

I find it interesting that in the Sting 2 Robert Shaw is replaced with Oliver Reed. I love them both. it’s too bad they’ve never been in anything together.
