I guarantee the entire productions heart will go into this final episode. Everything has been so clear that they respect, and care so so much to give this the ending it deserves.
1:39 - 1:50 You are right. Strangely no Number 9 was created in this generation and there's no reason given as to why. I always found this weird, because there were 2 of both of them amongst the standard yorha models (2B, 9S generation)
I loved this breakdown so much, I wish it was longer ☹️ so many details I hadn’t noticed 💩 I just don’t want the series to end, but at the same time I do want a cycle-breaking event for our beloved main characters to be in peace 🙌
@elmarce1983 I should do like a breakdown of each character story soon. I felt like this was just a random thoughts that kept me up at night. Hahahhaha when I was making my ep 23 breakdown and making my thumbnail. I was staring at it like wait a minute. Lol. And thus I created this video lol
Other information I managed to find: -In the files, unit 10 is mentioned, a reference to 10H, the realization of a new project sending androids to the Moon, and perhaps a reference to Nier Reincarnation for the transformation to pods. -The scene of A2 fleeing from the robot is the introduction scene of Nier Reincarnation. -The scene of the final battle is seen in the ending music video, where the appearance of Acord is possible. -When the girl in red says I see the light, the administrators of Kaine's ending also say it. -The laughter of some babies may be heard just like in the game in the C ending, these laughs are the Watchers of Drakengar.
There is one more chapter left to finish the series and I am waiting for the trailer of a new one like Replicant. The good thing is that we can still enjoy it a little more with the dubbing.
I am enjoying the dubbing too. I'm rewatching the series as the dubbing comes out and it helps with my breakdown. Looking at things a little differently.
@@VladDraculMichael8037 I caught that! I have a list of things I missed to maybe make a video of that. But I said in my initial video. If someone wants to try and translate those pages more power to them. I could hardly make out the letters. And angelic text is already a guessing game as it is.
@@GodFireBreakdowns Another thing I found out is the hacking of A2, that scenario is the same when 9S hacks her in the game by showing the options menu
I hope A2 goes all-out during her fight with 9S and busts out B-Mode one last time. Not sure if we'll see A2 and 9S kill each other like in Chil[D]hood's End or if A2 gives 9Skywalker the High Ground and removes Eve.EXE from his mind like in Meaningless [C]ode, but it'll be interesting to witness the outcome nonetheless.
2B is such a well-written character that 95% of NieR fans don't see & understand. 2B looks a cold & unfriendly character in eng dhb but she's so much cute & nice. The first time see killed 9S in the game drama she cried like a baby & apologized to 9S again & again. She lived her whole like with this mental torture btmut never blamed commander & hated her for that. She was even so sad that commander died. 2B was so hopeful that if she end that war she can be with 9S but sadly she got killed by F** red girls by a dirty trick of virus infection. Literally the most tragic & saddest character ever created. Also, everyone loved 2B is the game. Emil loved 2b, weapjn trader loved liked 2B, Anomene was also sad when 2B died. And Pod042, he literally said 2B gave him reason to live. And People just think she's a sexy attraction character.
5:11 "they became a family and then we all cried together" you got that right. when the dub for that came out it was coming from both eyes I highly suspect that after this anime there's gonna be some new announcement or tease for a continuation of the story
I'll admit, through most of the show's run, especially when I read the original draft by Yoko Taro describing his concept for the first episode on firesanctuary, I was supremely confident that the ending would feel the same as the game even if it deviated heavily from it narratively. That we'd get the same basic results even if the journey to get there took a few detours, much like how Cour 1 ended. Episode 21 threw me for a MASSIVE loop, maybe it's copium but it wouldn't be the first time Yoko Taro took a darker turn to get to a happier ending (NieR Reincarnation comes to mind). At the same time it made sense. As I recall in the game the resistance camp mostly leaves when the Tower rises, thinking the war is lost. Anemone and a skeleton crew stay behind to provide "support" (read; RPG town gameplay) for the player character. Jackass is never in the main camp with Anemone, sticking close to the desert area entrance from the city ruins. In the anime there is no need for an RPG town, so the resistance camp is more expendable. This causes a double whammy effect on the fate of pascal and his village that wasn't present in the game. As someone who played the game and read a lot of side material, I saw almost everything else coming except that and was all but blindsided (there were some who theorized it would happen during the discussion on episode 20, but I didn't expect them to go with the worst case scenario.) This means that, while I hope they will have an ending that gives the same feeling of relief and joy of seeing certain characters brought back and reunited. If the resistance camp stays dead, it still won't have the same appeal. The way I see it there are 4 major tones they can go for. 1. Narratively closest to the game, 2B and 9S are confirmed alive at the end with A2's fate up to interpretation, nobody else is seen or even hinted at being revived. 2. Emotionally closest to the game, 2B and the resistance camp are revived, 9S either surviving entirely or being revived, A2's fate left ambiguous, Devola, Popola, Pascal and his village, the bunker etc, all remain gone. 3. Super happy end. Every friendly character is revived, not sure how they could pull this off without some massive mood whiplash and a deus ex machina, but I also am not sure how they could pull option 2 off without it feeling arbitrary (why could Lily and Jackass be brought back but not Devola and Popola etc). This could be possible via Pod network rejecting the YoRHa plan and using their abilities to repair things and the fact that there are thousands of them, to fix up everyone. Something maybe they weren't allowed to do before due to their programming. (I think I mentioned this possibility before) Maybe it will involve process 11 in such a way that doesn't necessarily involve a Sphere of Destruction (or maybe it does and they manage to repurpose it? or the thing that comes out of it? using the remains of her inflorescence to bring everyone back as an opposite of the effects of WCS?) 4. Bad ending. this I still think is the least likely ending, since the reason NieR Automata was so well received compared to other Yoko Taro works was because it had Ending E, where you literally fight the end credits, defying fate and the story itself to get a better ending, but without the player's involvement, it may very well be a case of "you want the good ending? play the game." as some have suggested. I consider this a worst case scenario and would be VERY disappointed if they went this route. I'm expecting something closer to 1, or possibly 2. given the tendency of the anime to be emotionally similar to the game if not narratively. So if a dark moment goes darker, a bright moment should be brighter to maintain the adaptation's integrity. Who knows, maybe because they went with the worst case scenario in episode 21, they'll go with the best case scenario in episode 24? IF that is, they can pull it off. So who knows what's going to happen.
In regards to 2B and her knowledge, ive always speculated that All E series units are created knowing the truth of YoRHa, but because of their programming to execute units showing signs of desertion or having gained too much knowledge, they cant speak on this truth, so they carry out their lives already knowing their struggles are for nothing, but they have to keep going no matter what. This is the biggest cycle that needs to be overcome for things to really change for the better i believe, as 9S would be the first unit outside of the E series (+the commander) to be able to fully experience and potentially accept the truth on his own terms.
Right now I'm feeling like "wait and see what happens (hands manically)". I do wonder when and how Accord would make an appearance, though, since we're at the final battle already - for example, would she have ascended the Tower as well to interrupt the fight?
I have a feeling that one of the Pods will probably interfere. Especially A2's pod because he's becoming more and more concerned of A2's wellbeing. Not to mention he didn't say "Glory" when they said "Glory to mankind".
Thank you for all the videos so far (wanted to say that for a long time). Since the anime's ending is completely unpredictable, I make a wild guess: Either Emil or Fio will interrupt the fight between A2 and 9S in the last second and then he/she says "Please don't fight! Can't we all just be friends instead of killing each other?" I mean if for example Fio shows up, both Androids would understand, that there is still hope for humanity and it could also relate to the strange behaviour of the Pod. Maybe it knows something. Buuuuut since this is the Yoko-verse this is more like wishful thinking of a nice ending. xD Accord's appearance is also possible and could potentially tease a remake or anime for the Drakengard series.
I don't know... I have another theory but it's a long shot. Accord appears post fight or through the pods or post credit. Yes I am thoroughly convinced in my head canon that Accord would appear.
