Speaking on behalf of the rest of the world, we love and appreciate the passion and the ever mind-blowing and continually improving talent you bring to your work! Always a bonus when you give us a peek behind the curtain to not only watch the magic happen, but also provide some insights into the process and the challenges the work presents. Thank you!
Thanks as always, so nice to see you in my comments. :D
c'est toujours un tres grand plaisire de voir vos video ,j'adore votre travail , merci de nous partager votre arts avec nous.
that was amazing
Awe, thank you!
Phenomenal cover, and thank you for opening up your thoughts and feelings on creating and the process of balancing what you want to do vs. doing your absolute best on a deadline. I’m definitely going to check Lola XOXO out.
Thank you so much! I want everyone to go out there and create their projects. I'm here to hopefully shed some light on aspects of the process that may be helpful.
I have been waiting for you to drop… I just wanna watch you draw mannnnn. Thank you
Awe, thank you for the genuine comment! :)
Big fan of your work. Just dropping a message. Thanks for sharing these helpful videos 🙂
Thank you so much! :D
Awesome video. One of the coolest things is seeing how much your skill has grown. From when i first started chatting with you during the Myspace days to now you've always portrayed such incredible work ethic and passion that i have always found inspirational. You're incredibly talented Siya and it's beyond cool to see how far you've come! Congratulations! - Dan from NY, the Goomba hat thief :)
My Goomba hat buddy! It seemed like yesterday and yet so long ago all at the same time. :)
Thank you so much for sharing your process and art. Love to see it.
My best wishes from Spain Siya Oum
Thank you for stopping by, best wishes to you as well!
Really nice work.
Great video, Siya! Love that you're doing these!
Thank you Brett, and thanks so much for the contribution you've made through the years with your beautiful paper and ink!
Thank you for your beautiful and inspiring art
Thank you for stopping by!
Great video. Lover your work. I’m a big fan.
Thanks so much, Bryan!
I tried making a graphic novel cover and It was challenging but I love how you did it!
Absolutely gorgeous piece. I'm slowly catching up on your older videos during lunch breaks at work and really enjoying learning more about the process. The fact that you are using traditional (paper) art rather than digital, even though it may take more time, the benefits are a more beautiful and detailed finished product, plus you could sell the original art as another source of revenue. Wouldn't the digital artists lose that source of revenue even though they may gain a speed advantage? Hope you are enjoying the journey with Dragon's Glacier and that you are happy with your progress. Also really looking forward to Neo Wonderland as Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell and those kind of stories are my jam. Looking forward to the next update!
Beautiful
amazing... all the effort you put in . Its really an amazing piece.
Speaking the truth on accepting the time and the nature of the beast
That was so beautiful! :)
that's so good
Fantastic cover . I was just geeking out on your art supplies . The preppy pen mostly lol . I'm in a fountain pen phase , so far my favorite is also my cheapest one , a kakuno in ef . I'm surprised that you use so many different media together , markers , watercolor etc .I can never get myself to do that , if I start out painting in gouache it's all gouache , if I draw it's always pencil ink watercolor. You blend it all together so well it's hard to tell just by looking where one medium stops and another starts .
Hopefully one day you will make it out to Chicago, I really admire your use of traditional media
I'd love to go to Chicago! Thanks so much!
I love your picture
So wonderful!!!
Many thanks!!
@@SiyaOum you’ve motivated me to actually inhabit my spare bedroom with a zillion art supplies, dust off the surfaces and build that epic world that mainly lives in my head. I’ve suffered the “ perfectionist” plight and wish to enjoy the process again. My day job is intense enough. I want Art to be my refuge not a burden. Love your channel. Have a great day!
@@briansalazar7397 I know what you mean about enjoying the process, and just creating for the sake of creating. My best of luck to you! If I get stressed drawing the actual work, I just sketch on the side, something that isn't work related. Lol!
@@SiyaOum LOVE IT !!
wait so all the drawings in your comic book are done traditionally? okay i need to buy this
Awesome video .. love watching the process, use of different 'tools' (brush pen, copics, paint etc) on the one piece of work ... also loved the insights and commentary - one thing which especially resonated for me was using paper / receipts / anything!! to draw on even if it's 5 minute breaks!! Oh, the artwork is fantastic as well 😊
awe, thank you so much! I hope some of the info was useful for you. Have a great weekend!
Learning alot
Great Video and Insight, thank you for sharing
Thank youuu!
Perfect art❣️
Really like your art style. Looks like artwork by Jim Lee or David Finch. Most impressive. Continue to grow and Improve you do very well in comics. ComicCon good place to show your work. Good very good.
thank you so much! I do miss cons but I think I'll take another year off before going back to focus on my new project. :)
@@SiyaOum I'll continue to show my support. Take care Miss Siya.
@@atomicyang6702 Awe, thank you!
hey your art is super cool .I would love create something similar some day
Thank you so much!
Amazing work! I really love your art! I like to draw alien characters and I hope one day I can learn to draw like you and create my own comic series for my characters. That's my dream.
I can't wait to see you put your comic out for the world. It's such an amazing feeling to complete a book. Thanks so much!
You're amazing
Wow amazing video. I've been struggling to overcome a single blank piece unlike when I'm drawing in my sketch bool which is just free and less perfectionism mindset.
Great video ,I did panic when you were refilling the copic it reminded me when I loaded too much ink in a marker and it ended dropping a puddle in the middle of my artwork (it never happened again) Great work Champ !
hahaha, I know the feeling. :X I've never actually done it onto the art, but the pen definitely leaks on itself. Speed has made me focus on getting it done, where as when I first started, I didn't want to mess up my pens at all.
Can you do a video on using goauche with anatomy study for beginners? Love you work and content. Streamline and easy and calming to watch
Thank you for the suggestion. I will have to practice with it a little more. I generally use gouache for details that I'd like to enhance or cover up a big mistake, but I will practice.
@@SiyaOum Oh, no pressure at all. Keep doing what you are doing. Great content! I just started getting back into art. Far from good, but finding the time to craft art skills in drawing and painting with Gouache. Thank you for responding.
I love your videos. When can we expect more?😃
by next week, thank you so much! :)
Wait, wait a minute, you just ink 3 trees at the last minute. I know that for you is like, OK, yes... but for me is like: how you get those trees out the blue right now. What make you did that, lol. Thanks for those elements of surprise while you do your artwork.
hahaha! It was to counterbalance the foreground, but I see what you mean since I didn't commentate about them.
I've been wanting to ask, how do you transfer a traditionaly drawn book cover into digital for editing?
En serio me inspiras tanto a dibujar, en el futuro quiero poder lograr dibujar tan bien como tú.
Hi Siya, What paper and water colors do you recommend?
I like Winsor and Newton water colors and Arches water color paper.
@@SiyaOum Good to know, Thanks Much!🙂
4th time watching this now aha
As an artist, how long did it take you to subdue perfectionist tendencies? Beautiful work as always!
Actually, it's the opposite LOL. I needed to slow down and take time for the important aspects of the art, and not just speed. I overlooked a lot at first.
@@SiyaOum Well crap. I’m the exact opposite. lol I need to stop stressing about the little things and get faster.
wow, you're a lefty.....awesome
Yas, yas I am. :D *high five!
@@SiyaOum I am not, but impressed that you draw with your left hand.
If you really want to streamline your story, try the 24-hour comics day challenge. This challenge requires you to create a 24-page comic book in 24hrs. You will find that being under such a tight deadline, you will notice the important elements of your story and how they fit together
I just wanted to say that i love watching your process because your style is absolutely amazing!! Quick question, do you have any issues with your micron or copic pens bleeding on eon comic boards? ive had that issue with other boards and ive been seriously considering eon boards but im afraid of having that issue happen again. Again, amaing work! and i look forward to what you come out with next! oh and will you be attending NYCC this year in artists alley?
Thank you so. much Hector! As for the Copic Markers bleeding, do you mean around the edges? What tip size do you generally use? If there is any sort of clear sheen or coat on the paper it won't absorb the ink as quickly. The Eon paper is great for ink work, as that's what they were designed for. Eon left a comment on this video you can probably ask him directly. I myself haven't had problems with smearing. I won't be at any cons for at least another year until I finish my new project. :)
@@SiyaOum thank you for the reply siya! Yes I used to use the blue line pro brand of boards and whenever I pressed my micron pens down I would get an instant star effect and it would bleed which would make my page unusable after it. But I noticed when you use your pens on eon boards, that’s not an issue that’s why I asked. I have to say, your copic coloring is amazing and I aspire to reach the level that you have reached and I look forward to all of your new works!!
@@hectorbermudez5318 I see! I honestly haven't used blueline pro in an extremely long time. I either use Eon or Strathmore comic boards. I don't have bleed problems with either of them. Hope that helps a little. And thank you so much!
@@SiyaOum that helps I’m immensely!! Thanks again
@@hectorbermudez5318 :)
What size is that comic book art board?
it's 11x17 inches
Nice! I couldn’t tell. Sorry if it was a dumb question. That’s the same size I’m using for my own personal graphic novel. The Fallen StarGods.
@@JoeyPerezthethird It's hard to tell on video what size, especially when every country has their own print size :)
Eu quero esse bloco de papel para quadrinhos para desenhar meus comics!!! Lindo trabalho!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
