Maxine, I was born in 1966 and heard an interview just today, along with some of your songs and I must say I am in love with you. The emotion in your voice, your heartbreak and sorrow, You are what Blues are made of. I am so sorry you went thru all the turmoil that you went thru. But thank you and the Great Lord above for what you have given us.
With all of my love Rob

I can't believe I'd never heard of her! But thank you for this interview. She's charming and attractive and fun to watch, and her goodness shines through.

She got a lot of airplay in Los Angeles in the 1960's. Her hit Oh No Not My Baby got constant airplay in Los Angeles and introduced her to me.

Soulful and classy. She was sitting beside Jimi Hendrix at a press conference to talk about the Halem benefit concert for United Block Association in early September 1969.

Did you mean the Harlem Benefit concert. From what I understand she was born in South Carolina and moved to New York. and we were born forty years apart. If I am wrong I apologize. Jimi Hendrix is one of the greatest guitarists in the world. And with Maxine's voice they should have made magic together.

@@robbie686 Yes correct. I'm glad a positive force like Maxine Brown was on hand to buffer some of the negative energy being released by the ever present Mike Jefferies, who was lurking about at the press conference.

@@jamesnadell7144 Sir I have heard the name Mike Jefferies but can not connect the name to events or dates per say.
