Yea Yea man I mean I feel Cash Money would've been successful regardless but this album hit like a Comet and u know they all was eating off Juvie's quick 4 million copies sold which I know had to be far more than they were expecting and we all know if there's any single that made and sustained Cash Money back then it was Back That AZZ Up which grew to be an anthem for Louisiana and the whole south especially when it bled down into the College Bands man I remember in NYC back in 2002 I was a drummer and guitarist in my high school band and my teacher was from Shreveport he was in his 60s and he bought the music to us one practice and it said "Back That Thang Up" and I'm thinkin nah man it can't be Juvie but I started reading the music and sure enough...Juvie, Mannie and Cash Money will never be forgotten and I love seeing Juvie and Mannie looking so fresh(pun intended) with Juvie almost 50 and Mannie 55 now, he looks like he's like he's 35
Bruh if u said that shit to someone and I overheard u id probably come greet u like a old friend cuz I been feeling that way since the trend of "short ass songs for as many streams as possible" began like wtf first I thought they tryna take shit back to before the 70s but then I remembered the bullshit streams which don't count for much of anything with me.. maybe a million count as a thousand sales for me and i try not to spend too much time thinking of how much better things were in the past but in that regard its undeniable i been thinking that since i was a broke kid in the 90s which is one of the many things i loved and still love about No Limit and Cash Money and really most Southern Hip Hop I knew wasnt getting anything less than 60 min..No Limit and Cash Money didnt know the meaning of an album below 70 min with my favorite album from P anf maybe all of No Limit, Ice Cream Man remaining the longest single album I ever seen at like 80 min 32 sec. especially on a CD I never seen one hold that much..P made it happen..sorry to yap man but yea man since the 90s I been thinking like u like for me a complete song is 3 verses or at least 2 of like at least 45 seconds Apiece and song length at least 3 min, even a 1 verse cut goes good if the verse is at least 2 min..some of my favorite artists like Linkin Park prove sometimes Less Is More but most can't do that and most of the time these bite size microwave tracks are just artist being lazy as fuck and tryna get as much as they can for as little work possible
