    I know I bang on about Pratchett quote a bit but the idea that we don’t learn from our mistakes reminds me of something he believed.
    We have categorized ourselves as “Homo Sapiens” which means “wise man”. He believed that we aren’t homo sapiens but rather “Pan Narans” which would translate to “Story telling chimpanzee”. We love telling stories, and the story we tell ourselves is that we are Homo Sapiens. “Imagination, not intelligence, makes us human”

    I used to live near Salinas, California and saw the workers that influenced John Steinbeck and the Grapes of Wrath.
