    This was a must win situation for Ding Liren. Radjabov might have been well advised to choose a different variation. This line of the Mikenas-Carls seems to favor White.

    7:54 What about Nxd5 attacking the white queen? White cannot afford to take the black queen because Nxc3+ is check. So white would probably play cxd4, simply recapturing, giving black time to move the queen and play Qf7. (not taking the rook because Qxf6 without the queen protecting the pawn still leads to checkmate.)

    I found kxd5, and Rxe7, next move is kxc3 which is check....
    Finally win for black pieces

      If Nxd5, cxd5 by white and it's still over for black. Queen can't take on e1 cause it's checkmate (Qxf6), and if queen moves (say Qf8 to defend f6 pawn), Rxe8 and black can't take (Qxe8) cause of Qxf6 checkmate. Prolonging the game with Kg8 is pointless at that stage...
