Electricity Tariff Hike: Labour Unions Picket NERC Office In Abuja

The Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC this monday stormed the headquarters of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission in Abuja, protesting the recent increase in electricity tariff.
The action followed a May 10 memo from the unions, directing their state branches to carry out the exercise after government failed to revert the hike as demanded by labour on May 12.
