Followed along and your pointers are really helpful. i have a grey plug that looks like it goes down by the heater pipe by the door i cant see where this plugs in any ideas. I have two in that control beam angle and dash brightness plus airbag swit h on side but stumped on this one
Hi great video extremely helpful just had this problem where power steering just failed on.a megane mk2 i was looking at getting refurbed complete unit do these have to be reprogrammed or can you just swap the unit and all is good?

The electric power steering does not work in my Reno Megane2, writes Sterring FAULT, the power supply to the amplifier from the power wires is suitable, plus after the ignition switch, it also comes, and the steering wheel is stone, the relay in the amplifier the power supply does not work. Please tell me what it could be, it is most likely that you need to remove the amplifier and disassemble it, or some sensors from the outside?
Hi @AlexTheGrumpyOne I have a Renault Scenic 2005 and it had a power steering electronic motor failure, got replacement from ebay used my own steering lock and it works but when trying to put it back I cant get the steering wheel adjustment to go to the top as there seems to be this metal clip thing between it and the top, can you help please?
How do you test this electric steering box when already taken off to see if its working or not mine taken off already via your instructions helped me a lot thanks. but need to go further. I am From S A and parts are very expensive here because of the exchange rate and transport fees i first need to see if i can do something myself before purchasing a part can u help me to get the part (Complete Box if need be ?)
Alex the steering just stopped working and it is steering as if it is a tank . I can get a second hand box but the guy at the spare parts place tell me their is no guarantee on electric parts purchased i can not take that chance. On the display was a sign saying steering fault.
Hello. Yes it will be your steering rack system issue. There is companies that will give you warranty on refurbished ones. So if I were you I would find a company that sells them and provide warranty.
hi alex just come across your vid on this megane i have a dash message saying check steering the dinotastic test has shown steering angle sensor where abouts am i looking to reset or replace this cheers buddy
Hi there. You can try and perform a reset on it first. But usually indicates an issue in it and probably will end up getting replace. But please do try and reset it first

my dasboard sowed steerin locked and steerin unlocked ten te dianostic displayed unequiped. car dont start. tey asked me to uprade te unit and buy an emulator. is is advisable and relevant to te problem?
Yes it is possible. But it needs more diagnostic then that. They need to plug in first and get fault codes. It just assume that it's the problem. Ask to get fault codes first

Alex, how do you get to the two rear mounting bolts at the back of the dash?
In one of 2 videos that I got there im pretty sure that I've explained. They are a bit of a pain to be honest. But you can get a tool on them

Back ones are from under it you can get 3/8 ratchet on it with adjustable angle/flexi one. Thats how i don't it. Ill show you link for the tool.

First get it scanned with diagnostic tool to get a fault code out of it.
