Thanks Matthew! We’re getting into the final push, woody is putting up the racking right now & our goal is to have it up and running by the end of the year. Should have a few new faces joining us out here in the spring too! That’ll help move things along with the next few projects 🙌
@@woodysbarndominium I love hearing that, and the extra help will be nice as well! Truly love seeing the progress. Please don't hesitate to let me know if there's anything I can assist with, and happy continued building!
Thank you so much! Megan here… if you don’t mind me asking, could you pray that we are prepared for this baby? I am having a hard time getting my head around the fact that we’re having a baby here soon & I’ve been praying for peace about it and the strength & stamina to see this baby through the whole process. My labor with Wade was 38 hours 😅
Great job! Always amazing how you manage to accomplish so much with limited man and woman power! Wade is super adorable! Can't wait until the next video!
oh yeah! Megan here... Woody's keeping a brace on it under his boot, its helped tremendously. So glad to be past the truly hard part on this project, a lot less room for error once very thing is structurally sound!
thank you!!! its so nice to see a little $$$ come through, its going right back into this place & certainly helps to move things along a little faster!
Followed since the start and the progress you both have made can only be described as unbelievable. Keep up the amazing work stay safe and good luck when the new addition arrives. I'm following from the UK btw.
Hey there Brian! thank you for being on the journey with us! We're eager to make a "1 year building off grid" video in October. I can only imagine how different things will be out here by then. should have a lot of firewood this year, unlike last year!
@woodysbarndominium brilliant, will look forward to it. Good luck and take care. Oooh and tell woodie to take extra care of those ankles they are important haha.
Thank you so much for joining us this week!!!! We are trying to pull this off before this baby comes 😆 we will see. A few more weeks like this and it might get tired of the activity and decide to make an appearance 😂
Thank you for being here with us! We love our Friday “daddy movies”, we always watch the premiere together as a family and get to enjoy the comments & live chat as they roll in. So special!
Whew! That was kinda scary holding that rope tied to the beam with the wind blowing!!! Love watching you guys, wish my fam was out there somewhere doing the same!
I hope you get the life you dream of!!! We were both a little freaked out when that thing started moving. I was wishing my dad was there to take my spot 😂
Let Wade know what a great salesman he is. I went and subscribed from another account just because of his awesome powers of persuasion! And all I could see was that excavator glass getting broken when the beams started swinging....
oh my gosh thats too funny! He watches a few kids channels on RUclips where the kids do a show and tell with their toys, they always say "subscribe to my channel" and when he saw us recording for the "daddy movie", he wanted to join in. Nailed it all on his own! had us in stitches too
Wade is such a HAM! he watches a couple of channels on RUclips where the kids basically do a show and tell with their toys and they always say "subscribe to my channel" so Wade was eager to jump in and share his new little slogan. Woody and I were in stitches!
Great progress and terrific videography from Megan ! Love your channel so nice to see “ real “ people on RUclips not the ones who post only to glorify their selves .. look forward to next week 😘
thank you!! Ive been trying to find new angles to catch everything from, it's hard getting out there with it being so hot. not only am I cooking, but our cameras keep overheating. occasionally you'll see me in the background of a video running around in an umbrella hat trying to hide from the sun, its goofy but it helps!
That’s what we’re thinking! Not having anything sturdy to lay the ladder on & navigating the uneven ground was a nightmare. We’ll be glad to get the retaining wall up and backfill when the roof is done!
It’s feeling so much better, but it’s definitely still floppy & not quite right. Keeping it supported with a brace and tight boots until it feels normal again. Pretty glad to have sturdy surfaces to lay the ladder on now, makes the floppy ankle a little less of a problem
OMG, shepards pie, and veg., that was my favorite take-out in England when I was stationed there in the mid 70s. That frame seems to giving trouble, but I'm sure you will get it under control. Great job guys. Looking good! Be Safe, and God Bless! Remember, TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!!!!!!
That sounds absolutely delicious. I plan on putting several shepards pies, and chicken pot pies in the freezer before the baby comes. Some fall comfort food for staying in! Thank you for joining us this week :)
IM DYING LOL... someone said some thing similar in the live chat (we watched with woody's parents this week) and when I read the message out loud, you should've seen Woody's face! I think he's secretly going for that 90's WWE look lol
Thank you!!! I’m so glad we’re keeping it fresh. Learning to tell our story in an entertaining way is a big undertaking, I love it, but I’m always learning!
Thank you!!! This is taking a lot longer than we had hoped, but just having a place to store all the tools has made a huge improvement around here. I can hardly imagine how much having power and 2500+ gallons of water on hand will do for us!
I was on pens and needles with you out there, pulling on those ropes while you're pregnant. I wish there was someone else who would come help Woody with those beams. You both are putting yourselves in so much danger. Be safe.
Should have tacked a “saddle” on your upright to guide your cross beam in square. Set your end post back down then used your chain fall to lower the beam into the saddle, If that makes any sense? Good job! Ya got it.
We really appreciate that. It’s been a real challenge learning the whole RUclips-thing but sharing our journey out here has been so much fun. Hopefully our kids can look back on it and see just how much we had to learn 😆
@@JustChillin350 us too. Having a little extra money to throw at things as we go certainly helps. Not like things are getting any cheaper anytime soon.
It’s been an enormous undertaking, but I think it’ll all pay off in the end. Just having a place to put our tools has been so wonderful. I’ve got my porch back! Can’t wait to drag in some patio furniture & kick back this fall with the new kid 🥹
Things almost happened team. Being safe with steel toed boots 🥾or shoes 👞. Walmart has good prices, I wore them for 11 years driving a fork lift; no I’m not a man,,, I was around 50 to 60…. They are a foot saver.
For an ex sailor you have made some rigging mistakes my good man silly billy. When time and material permits can I suggest you blank off the exposed ends of those box section ends to save nesting and animal infestation in your steel work it will help in the long run due to the woodland environment you are residing in I hope this idea is helpful to your wonderful family.
Yes! We’ll get back to our regular schedule tomorrow at 7, but I promise we were gone for good reason. Had to flee back to NC to handle business & hopefully get some more $$$ to tackle the rest of these projects for the year. we’ll get into it in tomorrows video ❤️
OMG, looks like a disaster at times. Please use some gloves when working also think and plan out your moves with that big steel. Getting hurt, as you know already is a huge setback and could really have lasting repercussions. Its good to hear you recognized how you guys pushed it and need to give the wife a rest but dont ruin yourself in the process.
I love what y’all are doing but sir you have terribly overkilled the metal to frame such a small shop area ,you could have used trees off your place or much smaller metal, but again enjoy watching, spend your money wisely
The goal here is to build something thats maintenance free, wood is not maintenance free. We fully intend to timber frame our home out here eventually, but this isn’t the time for that.
