Best monologue from 24, no doubt. Jack Bauer is pretty much a comic book hero. He's constantly running from the law, almost everyone he cares about dies in relation to what he does, and he always does what is right for the greater good.
All that Jack said is why he is my hero. Even though he might break the law I understand why he has done what he has "I see 15 people held hostage on the bus everything else goes out the window" .... What do you say...?
I love this speech but if he *knows* the laws he is breaking are more important than 15 people on a bus somewhere, then does his breaking them suggest that he might be a little bit crazy?
