Congratulations! A whole lot of planning, lots of hard work, adjustments along the way, and life has gotten better for you, your team and for the ladies!
Sand under straw has been tried many times. The outcome is not good. Sample the back of your stalls monthly to note pathogen build ups and maybe lime the back of the stalls.a deep bedded stall with only a fine sand would be your best bet. But even with sand you can have extremely high pathogen counts. Good luck and stay on top of it.
Congratulations Andrew, great job in building the palace and great job entertaining your subscribers throughout the process.

What brand of tub grinder do you have for your skid-loader?
We've got a PICUS brand tub grinder. A bit more about it is in E75.
How do you like the straw bedding so far?
Pretty soon I'll be back to making videos and that's one of the first things to talk about. Teaser: we aren't using it anymore.
@@FreshAirFarmer Always enjoyed your style of videos , must be super swamped with the new barn to everything else on the dairy!

Straw on top of sand will not work, Too many flies
Straw will never work just use sand
